PB Banana Oatmeal Smoothie

Where was I?
Books and Bones?

Then nothing has changed :)

I still spend an obscenely amount of time on fictional love stories and indulge in geeky forensic anthropology details at other times. I've thrown all my social life out of the window. The only time I actually do interact is at work, and when I stop by to grab dinner after work!

Did I mention I was all about David Boreanaz now? Everytime he smiles and winks I melted a little..or died a little inside. Ok well I might have exaggerated a little but damn he's hot!

Oh and I do have a new indulgence. I'm mad on smoothies these days so I wake up 10 minutes earlier everyday to make a Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Smoothie for breakfast. Sinfully good. And I also double the dollop of peanut butter every time. I really put my mum's blender to good use.

It's so easy to whip up this perfect breakfast. 1 cup of vanilla yogurt, 1 cup of milk, 1/4 cup of old fashioned rolled oats, 1 medium banana frozen overnight and as much peanut butter as you want.

It is honestly the next best thing after Nutella. I wish I'd discover it sooner.

So there you go. Books, Bones and PB Banana Oatmeal Smoothie. Sums up my life right now!

I Love My Paperbacks.

I finally gave in.

For the past couple of weeks (or months?), I have been toying with the idea of getting an ebook reader. But I just couldn't do it. I hate it. I hate reading from this flat screen gadget. I love my paperbacks. I love my coarse yellow imperfect paper. I love how they fit in my hand. I love the sound of turning the pages. I love finishing the book and closing the last page, as if closing a chapter of my life. I love putting it on my lap while I fiddle with my phone. I love them the way they are.

But the convenience tempts me. The promise of thousands of book with just a click away tempts me. The portability and how it fits in my handbag while I travel around in buses and trains tempts me. The cheap $7.99 ebook tempts me.

So I gave in.

It's finally here for me. The age of ebook.

Sex Blog Duo

Hmm. The 'new generation'.

If you're too free nothing to do, the other whole interview with "Singapore Now" is here about their dream of becoming pornstars.

"Had an eventful first day. Met up, chat a lot, dinner, walk in the park, and stayed over" - Alvin on their first date. And the interviewer asked whether there's any recording involved that night hahahah. I like both the interviewers.

When their story first came out in the news, the blog was not taken down yet. I heard somewhere that NUS has revoked the scholarship offered to him after he mocked the school. Not sure how true is that. To me, I think ultimately this whole thing is entirely up to them. If they're comfortable with exposing their sex lives and photos to the public even though they're not exclusive yet (not the 'conventional couple') then it's totally their business. Everyone just chillax, grab a beer and watch lah lol!

Best Memories Come From Bad Ideas.

Today I saw this quote and I cannot agree more!

I'm really bad in remembering things. All I can remember clearly are those stupid stupid things I did mostly in my uni years, even after sooooo many years!

Like we were just out for supper at midnight (we're out for supper almost every midnight), talking rubbish doing nothing then just one of them suddenly say "hey let's go to malacca". "When?" "NOW lah". And off we went. We didn't even go home and change or take anything and we drove straight to Malacca and reached there at 4 in the morning. We didn't know what to do. Found a place, ate Bah Kut Teh and drove back to JB.

I think the one I'll remember the longest is when MeiFoong, Ah Hao, ChekChow and me went driving around at night in the uni when suddenly our mutual awesome (at that time) spontaneous decision is unleashed. We drove back home, looked for a spanner, drove back to the Uni, and took something away (which doesn't belong to us). The best part is, Hao fractured his arm because he literally boxed the wall the previous week and still had his cast on so he had to lug the thing in 1 hand. We then carried the crazy big thing back home and drank alcohol for the whole night celebrating our 'achievement'. The next morning, we drove back to the same place, only to realize there's a CCTV pointing straight to the place where we were last night. All of us almost peed in the pants. We went home, lost appetite, sat around, did nothing. There's an exam the next day but me & MeiFoong didn't study for it because we're almost 98% sure we'll get expelled.

In the end, we sat for the exam and flunk it. And, we didn't get expelled. AND the lecturer announced the exam marks will not be used as part of the course examination marks. So, we sorta got off the hook, unharmed, and decided that's probably the dumbest thing we did and will never do again.

Well, it didn't last long because the following week, all of us partied and jammed at home (my favorite feng tao song at that time), then drove out looking for haunted house to find ghost (!!!??!!), and 6 of them were escorted back to the Balai and had to be bailed out. Police saw them in the haunted house, thought they're druggies and took them away. I think nobody tried explaining that they're just looking for ghost because we all know how dumb that sounds.

Inserting completely unrelated youtube but back then when I used to dance, I love to watch Alex Bullon and he even choreographed for my feng tao song haha.

Those are just the tip of the iceberg of the stupid things we did. The 4 years in the uni makes most of my best life memories.

So it's true. Young people do brainless dumb things. The best memories come from bad ideas.

Wake Up Call

I haven't been taking care of myself at all. Well, for instance I haven't started eating any greens yet. I was pretty determined to start eating at least ONE type of vege but half a year has passed and I have yet to try any. My colleagues joked that if one day I decide to swallow a piece of vege, I might shit the whole vege out in proper green form as my stomach would not recognize and would not know how to digest it

Fruits? Hmm, can't even remember the last time I have a proper piece of fruit. Last month or 2 months ago?

All I've been eating is rubbish (McD, fried chicken rice, fried rice, fried this fried that) and at really odd hours, mostly late nights. I wouldn't blame it on stress because work and life in general has been treating me good.

Beauty products? HARDLY! I don't even use branded skin cleanser or moisturizer anymore. Sometimes I just wash it with water, and at times, I just used Neutrogena or Simple or just anything I get from the local drug store. Moisturizer? I used the same lotion I used for my body wtf. Facial? I try to go every 2 or 3 months but most of the time I forgot about my appointments. And can you believe I've never used sunblock at all? For the past 10 years? Then I found out everyone used expensive cleanser, followed up with toner, then serum, then moisturizer, then sunblock.

When I meet up with the pups, I realize everyone had taken REALLY good care of themselves. Hair, skin, face. Everyone has tons of make up on and hair styled. And me, I didn't even bother to make up when I go dinner! Can't even remember if I slab on moisturizer pun.

Urgh! What a hard wake up slap! What a vast difference! I'm no longer 20 something! I didn't realize how much I've aged and when I looked back at my photos, I noticed everything kinda started going downhill when I was about 26-27. I can see obvious wrinkles and laugh lines. So yeah, just wanted to remind myself it's time to start taking really good care of myself. Let's start with buying a decent moisturizer (preferably anti-aging wtf) and eat at least a piece of fruit tomorrow! Oh and stop eating fried chicken and nasi lemak.

Ok I shall do a proper update soon with photos, you know, just in case you can't remember me.

All Men Cheat.

It's all over the news. The China expatriate crashed his Ferrari into a taxi, killing himself, the taxi driver and the taxi passenger (a Japanese woman).

The accident has sparked outrage in Singapore. Singaporeans have long hated the Foreign Talents who have flooded the country, who, in their opinion, have caused great deal of inconveniences to the locals. This accident just further fuels the hatred.

The taxi driver left behind 2 sons and a daughter, and is the sole breadwinner of the family.

The only survivor is the China girl in the Ferrari. What's even more tragic for the Ferrari driver's wife is the man had frequented nightclubs and had taken this KTV hostess out for a spin at 4am that morning. He ran the red lights supposingly trying to show-off his skill and car when he crashed into the taxi.

It's so fucking tragic.

So True!

The Worrywart

I'm exhausted, worn out, frustrated, grumpy.

So........

I cooked myself a big bowl of Maggi Curry Soup for supper at 11PM.

I actually thought about whether I should have Maggi for supper for almost half an hour, from getting in the MRT, to getting on the bus, to getting home, to shower, and I'm still thinking whether I should when I'm cooking it!

I'm the world's biggest worrywart. I think everyone knows that already. I think and worry about everything, and now it has become so serious up to the point I worry whether I should have Maggi for supper. Urgh!

But I think I deserve it tonight. I've had migraine for the whole weekend. The kind that's so bad I can't think straight and I can only lie in bed and feel like vomiting the whole time. Even with such bad ache I had to get on the bus for another 6 hours bus ride. It's killing me and I wanted to saw open the head and take out whichever parts of the brain that's hurting!

Anyway, I finished the whole bowl and licked it clean. Now I'm feeling 10 kinds of guilt.

Ok. I'm going to lie on the bed and finally have some quiet lovely night in and REST! Good night everyone, and have a lovely Monday!

The Noose.

Sometimes, I really have communication breakdown with the Singaporeans, and the Chinese (from China) and the Vietnamese and basically, with all the non Malaysians. We use so much of our own language and slang and quotes and whatnot. My Singaporean colleague once told me my Malaysian slang is so strong she couldn't quite catch what I'm saying (she's a Chinese I'm a Chinese and I speak Mandarin to her.) #Fail.

We were playing table tennis after work just now at the cafeteria. There's a lot of running, smashing and shouting. This guy forehand smashes all the time so at one point he smashed again and I said "wah you think everyday Sunday ah!"

Nobody understood me. And I didn't bother explaining. "you think everyday Sunday ah" is a Malaysian thing? I didn't even know!

I was youtubing around The Noose tonight and came cross this episode which talks about Singaporeans complaining too much. It's true! They really do complain a lot compared to us because they expected so much from customer services around, whereas for us, if things go badly, well, it's just the way the country is, no surprise there right.

I think Michelle Chong is genius! She's a Singaporean artist and she made Lulu and SPG Barbarella so famous with her almost perfect China slang. You wont like The Noose if you don't enjoy really really dumb jokes.

But The Noose is the only Singapore Mediacorp series I watch. Otherwise, I mostly just watch Modern Family, New Girl, Grey's, Gossip Girl and all TVB series. Nothing from Singapore at all. I don't like everything translated to Mandarin, it's plain weird.

Forever Alone Level 50.

Took this on Valentine's Day at Clark Quay. The banks were full of couple sitting there enjoying the breeze and making out. Except..maybe, that guy in the middle.

Kiasuland.

My system has the most annoying "The instruction at "0x0c175969" referenced memory at "0x0c123456", the memory could not be read". It's stopping me from launching the project and I've been so busy trying to figure things out that I don't even have time to drink so I don't have to pee. My other daily support load was sky rocket high so recently I've been nothing but frustrated at work. My colleagues asked me about it and gave quite a few suggestions on what might go wrong. They have zero knowledge on this system, because we don't have job rotation kind of stuff so everyone just mind their own work. They asked me some details and took part of my stuff to their PC. Although I'm in my cubicle, I can hear them discussing about it.

By the time I look at the time, it's already 7pm on a Friday night. I walked out of my cubicle and saw them still there, still discussing about the memory issue. I told them not to discuss about it already. Go home! It's not even your business. Don't OT because of something not related to you. Go home!

They say "hey don't worry about it. we're team mates. we have time so we can help to check our PC and Windows config and see what might cause the memory failure."

I have been working a full 15 hours daily for months and by that time I was pretty exhausted and when they say that, I was freaking touched and I nearly teared. NEARLY.

Let me tell you guys something. The people I met here throughout my 2 years are nothing but nice. Where did the perception that Singaporeans are kiasu come from? Why do I perceive them that way all my life? Why? Because these 2 years I've met countless helpful people at work, on the road and in the mall. My colleagues are not just nice to me. Every time someone run into any issue, everyone jumps in and help without credit. Since they have helped me a great deal, if they run into any problem, I'll also 上刀山下油锅 for them too. I guess that's how the whole help-each-other culture formed?

Is it because I haven't lived here long enough and have not gone out often enough and meet more people? Am I just lucky to have come across all these helpful people? Or have we wrongly perceive the locals here to be kiasu? I think I need to go out more and maybe I can finally find all the kiasu people in this kiasu land.

Static Guard

I'm so excited to share this piece of information with you!!

You know how your clothes always stick to your body due to static friction? I have load of dresses I don't wear anymore because they tend to stick to my body. And because the material is silky and not cotton, when it sticks to my body, it shows my lower body clearly. like it shows both your thighs clearly and your ass and ass crack and..ok...I think you get what I mean.

I know there's this spray called Static Guard for this purpose. But I just found out that applying hand cream on your body will solve the problem!!

I applied hand cream on my lower body and the dress really does not stick on it..anymore!

Ok. Maybe you already know this. But still, maybe still got people like me dont know leh?

Ala Zombie Apocalypse

I have this dream over and over again. It's not exactly the same each time, but it always happen in the same place and almost the same thing occur. I always dreamt that I'm in a village in the jungle with lots of wooden huts. There're also a lot of villagers there. The worst part is, every time a bell rings, an evil spirit will come out and grab people randomly and strangle them, not to death but until they turn into her. Something like zombie apocalypse. The trick is, she can't see you if you don't move or speak but if she try to "feel" you she can actually touch you. Something like the ancient Chinese vampire. You just have to avoid being bumped into or touched.

Yesterday night I slept at 10pm all exhausted. And I dreamt about it again. I am back in that village. This time I'm with 3 other people. I don't remember who that 3 person are. Can't remember every single detail but I always remember how it ended.

The bell rings (it always does). We all ran for our dear life and 4 of us squat down and lean against the wooden hut wall. Then the evil spirit flew down from one of the hut on top of the hill. It grabbed one of the villagers and strangled him/her in front of us. My friend (I assume is my friend since we're together) who's beside me choked and shouted in fear. I tapped her on the back and asked her to shut her damn mouth wtf. But it's too late. The evil spirit grabbed her up and strangled her and I can hear her screamed like mad. I was holding a piece of wood and hiding behind it, too afraid to look. But I breathed loud trying not to scream.

After my friend was strangled, this evil spirit came near to the wall, to where I was hiding. She looked straight at my direction. I was hoping she can't see me. Then..she moved her leg and tried to "feel" if there's anything at my direction. Her toe touched my toes. She know I'm there. Then........

I woke up.

wtf.

I seriously wonder if there's any meaning behind these dreams. Because I keep making the same dream over and over again, only this time the evil spirit know I'm there already!

Please dont let me go back to that village again wtf. I dont want to get strangled!

Back to work!

CNY 10 days rest is heaven sent. I told myself I'm going to work during the 10 days break to catch up on everything but as expected I didn't even turn on the PC. I didn't even get online and check on my gmail or surf the net, at all. Hmph, work? What work?

I wanted to generate a meme face for my wtf-ness but office blocked it and the reason is TASTELESS hahahaha.

Since I started work, I couldn't sleep well every night. Tried to laze on the bed since like 9pm but didn't fall asleep until 2am and end up waking like I haven't slept at all. Every time I get to office, someone will definitely pass a comment like 'wah why you look like shit. didn't sleep ar". No actually even I sleep at 10pm, I still wake up to those kind of comments. Why ar! Because my eyes have natural dark circle and eye bag la that's why! No matter how much I sleep I just couldn't get rid of them. I even bought a $120 Lancome eye cream that claims to have 6 VISIBLE actions to fight dark eye circle, eye bag, wrinkle bla bla bla. Conclusion: don't buy it. I've used it for some time and it doesn't show better result than a $40 Skin Food Salmon eye cream. True story. All those fancy promoting on this eye cream makes it seem so good though!

I looked into the mirror yesterday and realized just how much I've aged. Really. When I look at my own photos, all I see is saggy and wrinkly skin. Such a big difference compared to just 5 years ago. So when people tell you to start taking care of your skin when you're 24 and 25. It's true. You can't tell much difference between 20 and 25. But 25 to 30? It's a true big jump...to hell. Some people are born with natural baby face. Those are exceptions. But me? I belong to the look-5-years-older-than-real-age group. Well, it's probably a balasan coz it's not exactly like I have good healthy meals or skincare routine or what. I hardly drink water, eat fruits once every month or twice at most, no greens or any vegetables since i'm...maybe 5 years old. Skincare routine? What skincare? I use a facial cleanser and a moisturizer from Watsons. Nothing else. No spf sun block or serum or miracle water or toner di da di da di da. It's all showing now! I eat nasi lemak and yau char kway and chicken wing as breakfast dammit. All I eat is meat meat and meat and meat and more meat.

So this morning I woke up 10 minutes early (despite lack of sleep), dropped by the supermarket and bought yoghurt and fruit and milk for breakfast wtf, and in 2 hours I drank 800ml of water already. Hopefully if I stick to healthier meal intakes it'll show a difference, err...maybe in 3 or 4 years or so.

It scares me..really! I looked at my photos and they're scary! I've also gotten a lot tanner, and it's not helping at all. By the time I get married and take wedding photos, I probably look 10 times worse. How sad can that be when you look back at your own wedding photos and you go all..urgh...

Ok finish rant. Go back to work.

New Year New Stress!

My year started crazy. Crazy with work, that is. Only few weeks or month ago I was wondering how my co-workers can work all day all night without realizing the time. Remember my complaints?

The other day I was typing away and then I saw the night shift guy walk past and I said "Wah so early today?!" and he replied "Same time everyday what. 8pm lor"

I went to office at 8 in the morning and worked without resting for a good 12 hours straight and I was so trapped in my cubicle that I did not even realize it's 8pm and that everyone has gone home! When I asked them why they never bid me goodbye they say coz I look like I'm very into something wtf and they didn't bother saying bye. When I reach home, the first thing I did is login to the office network and even when I sleep I dreamt of it whole night. urgh!

That's how my days are since the year started. I missed most of my meals but I snacked a lot and ended up feeling like I'm 10 pounds heavier. My colleagues keep coming over and dropping CNY cookies and cream puffs and crackers and cakes but mostly bak kwa! Yesterday I came home at 7pm, collapsed on the bed, and slept all the way until 7.30am the next morning. I didn't even know I'm still capable of sleeping that many hours at this age. They say the more you age the lesser sleep you need. Apparently not true!

I'm sorta really glad I got my working mojo back. It's tiring, stressful but I feel good, in a way.
But also means I just bid my social life goodbye...gah...not that I have any in the first place wtf.

The Response to #TanyaNajib

Errrrrrr

Errr

#TanyaNajib!

Our PM apparently setup a new #tanyanajib hashtag in his twitter so the rakyat can ask him questions which he WOULD answer (that's what he claims) for a few hours only though. It was also highlighted in The Star: http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2011/1/12/nation/7779848&sec=nation

So I was pretty entertained at work yesterday reading through all the questions but gave up after 10 minutes or so because every minute almost 40 question tweets came in. Horrible! I can never finish reading but you dont have to finish reading it because most of the questions are meh........

The whole #tanyanajib thing created a twitter trend and if you have a twitter, you'll know what trending means (http://www.thesundaily.com/article.cfm?id=56234). It's like if a lot of people keep talking about a topic worldwide then it'll show up as a trend. AND THE FUNNY THING IS 'someone' ask who is TANYA NAJIB because #tanyanajib is trending and 'someone' answered HOPE SHE'S HOT..HAHAHAHA

someone even #tanyanajib is this is a trap to send them all to jail HAHAHA

ok lol

Then a lot of people are wishing Happy 1/1/11 or things like that and someone say on twitter that she missed 1/1/11 11:11 but she thinks 'it must be spectacular for those watching the clock or calendar waiting for it'

HAHA sarcasm max but SO TRUE!

Best of Autocorrects.

My office blocked all social networking sites so all I have is just MSN or Facebook using the iPhone (which is sort of like a life savior). But sometimes the phone AutoCorrect feature really drives me crazy. I can understand if it's translated into something similar but sometimes some odd words just came out and it wasn't even the same starting alphabet and the word's not even anything near!

AND I found out it's not just me being dumb not knowing how to use it correctly. I spent a good 1 hour reading this awesome site. Laughed till I cant breathe.

http://damnyouautocorrect.com/category/best-of-dyac/

HAHAHAHAHA

HEHEHEHE I MUST BE DAMN FUCKING BORED TO KEEP READING THIS

OKOK LAST ONE

LMAO. Have a good weekend everyone!!!!!

Lemony Snicket

“Everyone, at some point in their lives, wakes up in the middle of the night with the feeling that they are all alone in the world, and that nobody loves them now and that nobody will ever love them, and that they will never have a decent night’s sleep again and will spend their lives wandering blearily around a loveless landscape, hoping desperately that their circumstances will improve, but suspecting, in their heart of hearts, that they will remain unloved forever. The best thing to do in these circumstances is to wake somebody else up, so that they can feel this way, too.”

- lemony snicket (via loventhetruth)

Haha I was reading and reading and thinking why so emo wan lah. Loved the last sentence!

++++++++++++++++++++

Aih anyway from the last entry I actually feel quite bad about ranting it here. That's really mean what I said. But in my defense, at that point I'm really pretty annoyed! I don't know why I'm explaining myself also now wtf.

Kesimpulannya, money is not everything for everyone. It is for me though so after long consideration I decided to forgo Wan Tan Mee, Nasi Lemak and Char Kuay Teow to come here anyway and for the better quality of life. You can say I'm money faced whatever. But you CAN'T say I'm evil coz I used money to pijak on people in my last entry! I don't do that! Except..... only that 1 time coz he's equally evil too =(. My point is, if money is not primary factor for you, if money is not everything to you, if money is not enough to bring happiness to you, then that's good for you. You can stay where you are and do what you're doing now. Whats the point of earning big bucks if you're not happy? Different people have different opinion on how they should live their life. I chose to do it this way doesn't mean you have to agree with me. But don't be mean right?

Why am I explaining myself again. Am i really THAT guilty. Shit. Seems like what they said is right. I AM turning into a new leaf haha.

++++++++++++++++++++

Anyway, I have found a great great workout recipe. Best part about it is it kept me interested and I actually dint mind doing it everyday! Compared to just the monotonous jog and run and swim, this is far way better. If it works, I'll share with you guys too ok!

One good thing about the HDB here is that they have a park downstairs at every area. Most nights you can see the old people doing line dance at a corner, another group doing this sword chinese kungfu thing, young teenagers breakdancing at another corner, and almost 10-15 people jogging round the field. You can go down and jog at 10pm and still see many people jogging there and the place is so well lit. It's riuh rendah every night like the whole community is there and also grandmothers taking their grandchildren strolling around.

I loved it coz I can go down and run out in the park anytime I want and there're people. And you actually feel safe. Really. Maybe it's not as safe as I thought it to be, but definitely better than Malaysia! Aisey Malaysia you cant jog outside coz you'll either kena rob or slashed or raped. I'm not joking. Nobody runs outside the gym without feeling like they'll die anytime. Well maybe not to THAT extent but you get my point.

So YAY to going back to exercising again!

No Title.

WAH

Do you know know I spent 15 minutes writing a rant post scolding fuck here fuck there then I decided to delete it?

Shit have I become the angel my friend was talking about WTF haha really wan! The other day I was saying something and she said "omg this so not you. the joan I know wont say nice things like this. who are you! I want the bitchy one back"

wtf. Anyway ya lor see I rant liao then deleted it. What has this place done to me oh god.
