Krabi - An Unexpected Fun Part II
Let me present you with the start of Day 2.
#1 These umbrellas are now put to their real use. For RAIN. We woke up the 2nd day to heavy heavy rain. We're supposed to have the island and snorkelling visits through the LongTail boat in the itinerary. The travel agency told us that no long boats or speed boats allowed out there because the unbelievably big waves. We didn't have any alternatives. We had buffet breakfast and then went back to the room and sleep away.
#2 We then asked the receptionist to help us order tuk-tuk to go out for lunch. Can't remember how much but it's less than RM10 from our hotel Aree Tara to the beach strip. (That's the consequences of not blogging on time because then I forget every detail)
#3 Shu say there's a restaurant highly recommended in the websites so we took the tuk tuk there but it's not open. So we chose the restaurant next to it instead. Turns out the food is quite nice! and considering the place is quite nicely decorated, the price is very reasonable. I didn't expect anything to be cheap since we're in Krabi some tourist area so everything sure hike up until very kua zheong wan. But yum yum very nice ler.
#4 Vsoon, I and Step and a few others in the same table sharing the lunch coz there's no big table and we had to split into 2 tables.
#5 The few others. haha.
#6 Then we walked around Aonang town. (Krabi town is another town which is 30 mins away). Is it? Or is the one near the beach Krabi town and Aonang town is 30 mins away? damn I can't remember anything! Anyway, the main point is, don't know shu or weeping found this "raincoat" at one of the grocery store so we bought it for around RM5 one. they say we're like condom like that wtf.
#7 We decided it's not wise to walk around town aimlessly because it's raining and it's not convenient even though we have the plastic condom to protect us coz it's so nipis leh. So few of us decided to rent the bikes for less than RM30 per day? Then we found this place to pump petrol but damn freaking expensive. We're forced to anyway because there's no other petrol station in sight. Pey/Hoe and HY/WeePing did not rent it though coz HY promised his parents he won't go on a bike coz dangerous and WP promised HY's parents that she will lookout for HY so he wont go on a bike coz dangerous wtf.
#8 One of the most unflattering moments caught on camera. Why I so auntie wan!!! The umbrealla and the bag and the plastic condom. Adoi. I look like I'm in pasar finding loose changes to buy pork ribs geh.
#9 4 bikes! The feeling's great that we finally have a bike to go everywhere without having to walk and get splashed with rain water.
#10 There's the pancake stalls EVERYWHERE. It's basically just something like roti canai. But it's very thin so that it'll be crispy, and then they spread all kinds of stuff on top of the roti canai of your choice. I kept choosing the peanut butter and the banana one coz IMO it's the best combination. But then thinking back, I won't crave for it because it's kinda gross. Very very extremely oily.
#11 Shu showing off her big..ehem...
#12 See? Laut yang bergelora. Do you know what is a long tail boat? It's just some dodgy wooden boat. If speedboat is not allowed out in the sea, then of course the cheaper longboat we paid for lagi cannot lor. The sea is brown and muddy in color because it kept washing up the sand and mud. So who say Krabi beach is nice!!!????!!!
#13 Step looks very gay with my bag wtf.
#14 LSP wants to kill himself. He's walking into the sea helplessly.
#15 Group photo! Trying to be happy but god dammit happy what? Go beach also use umbrella and rain coat.
#16 Then we got bored, and all the bachelors found this HUT at the end of the Aonang beach strip that offers massages. There's a whole row of massage HUTs but we chose the lousiest of them all. Don't ask me why. I don't know why too. When the woman open up the curtain, the place smells like it hasn't been used in ages and it smells like cockroaches and everything is rusty and dirty. Nobody dare to lie on the mattress coz it is VERY DIRTY and all of us regretted it instantly. For this kind of place, the price we got is not cheap at all okay! almost RM20 per person. 20 per person in Thailand can get very decent massage in the shop already okay. Remember my Hatyai massage? It's only RM20 and I have silk pajamas and nice air-conditioned room!
#17 EVeryone lie down unwillingly. The pillow stinks. LSP looks like he's dead. We kept laughing and laughing and laughing coz all of us looked so tortured but had no choice. We didn't want to levae because we saw their poor living condition and their kids have to sleep in some lubang. Quite pitiful.
#18 We survived!
#19 At night we went for seafood and then hang out at this place 5 mins away from our hotel. The tour guide told us it's very happening there. But maybe we're the only table there that night. At that point, we're quite disappointed with Krabi night life!
#20 We're so bored we played chor dai dee. The girl on the right works there and I have no idea why she sat down and why Wee Ping taught her how to chor dee.
The 3rd day.
We woke up to a rainy day. SIGH BIG SIGH. wtf right. So we couldn't go island hopping AGAIN. We figured we didn't want to waste another Krabi day doing what we did the day before. We didn't want to walk around Aonang and go for dodgy massages anymore hmph! So we called the agency for options that can be done even when it's raining.
They suggested ATV and Water Rafting and we agreed. Not like we have a choice anyway. I don't have any water rafting photos because we're not allowed to bring camera down.
#21 I wanted to do the Megan Fox pose..you remember the one Transformer II started and she's on the bike wtf. wahahahaha. But I abit fail la. Need to ask her for her hot bod only can wtf.
#22 I damn fail with ATV also. I'm the 2nd one after the guide and I kept langgar the pokok. The guide had to pull my ATV back and I step on the pedal and I langgar the opposite pokok. Left and right left and right like that. Those who follow behind me kept cursing me and decided to overtake me and leave me to die there huhuhuhuhuh. Step stayed back to wait for me but I think he quite impatient with him liao at that point haha but wtf I've never driven ATV or a bike before and god knows how heavy the steering is!
#23 Hello Love!
#24 Following ATV is the visit to the Monkey Cave. We didn't know we had to pay extra RM10 to go in. Quite scary the place coz so many monkeys I wanted to die! I didn't understand why I have to pay to be tortured.
#25 My advise, NEVER EVER GO TO THIS CAVE IF U'RE IN KRABI. Waste money! Nothing to see. Very boring! It's a scam to con our money.
#26 Dinner at this place which is next to the good lunch place we had the day before. The food here is just average. Nothing to shout about.
#27 4th day! Drizzling too. But the waves are still too big and no boats are going to any islands. So we ordered in room massage.
#28 We decided that we cannot leave Krabi unless we swam in the sea, at least. So even though the waves are super big we still went to the beach.
#29 they look like they're asking for help wtf. See LSP on the left. He didn't want to go down at first but decided to after half an hour or so.
#30 Aonang!
#31 At night we dropped by the night market for some bbq-ed chicken.
#32 Thai food is yummy I enjoyed every meal.
#33 We then found a decent massage place which cost us around RM25 or 20 for foot massage. I followed the bachelors for massage while the married people and Shu went shopping instead. The place is air conditioned too. I didn't go for foot massage coz I reckon it's quite painful so I chose the body scrub and massage instead. The much needed pampering!
#34 Then we found some REAL krabi night life. We wanted to go for the gay pub but the guys are scared. Don know scared what also.
#35 LSP is watching football match on the TV the whole night. Even the skimpy clothed girl danced in front of him also he didn't notice. He nearly asked her to move aside and not block his view wtf.
#36 Everyone danced while LSP clapped.
#37 I love this picture of shushan wtf she found this guy with the super big cowboy hat and asked to borrow her for photos heh. Nice pose!
#38 The day we left Krabi, it was very sunny and we saw boats at the beach preparing to go island hopping. SO SAD OKAY why is life so unfair boohoo.
So that rounds up my Krabi trip. Basically we didn't manage to go snorkelling or island hopping and we didn't get to see ANY islands at all or take any kinds of boats. Quite sad right. But we plan to go for the full moon party in Phuket (not sure) maybe end of the year. Everyone say the full moon party very happening wan. Go seorang but balik dua orang hohohohoho. dont know real or not.
Krabi - An Unexpected Fun Part I
The title is actually given by Shu coz the trip to Krabi is really an unexpected..ehm.. 'fun'? We planned the trip like almost more than half a year ahead because AirAsia has this discount but end up Step bought the ticket to join us like 1 month before the trip also cheaper than our tickets wtf. AirAsia discounts cannot be trusted wan.
It was back in July when H1N1 is like wide spread so Sim & Grace decided not to go but all of us still go ahead with the plan. I was excited even though I've been travelling and travelling but this is different coz it's so rare we get to travel in a group, maybe only once every 1.5 years or so.
#1 Pey bought masks for everyone. It's an early morning flight from PG->KL.
#2 LSP only wore it in the plane because he say it's easier to spread in the plane than in the open area like airport. I totally agree but dont know why still don't feel like putting on mask.
#3 AirAsia doesn't have free seating anymore. So if you buy your tickets then not necessarily you'll get your seats together in a group. But we're lucky.
#4 In Krabi airport. Forced to put on coz everyone kept saying how dangerous Thailand is. Very unhappy like that wtf.
#5 How? Which side is up which side is down.
#6 Okay try again.
#7 Finally. The whole process I took like 10 photos wtf.
#8 And he had to carry my bags while I put on mask and kept taking photos wahahaha.
#9 Rented a van at the airport to send us to Aree Tara hotel. It took us almost 45 minutes from the airport to the hotel.
#10 The view of the pool from my room.
#11 They lipat the towels into elephant shapes so cute.
#12 The room. I actually quite like the hotel coz it's new and everything's clean. The room is quite decent too. I can't remember the exact price but it's somewhere around RM130 per night I think. We booked the room through Agoda. You can checkout the website. Sometimes they offer pretty good deals.
#13 Counting Baht in the room after we checked in. Almost 50000 baht there I think.
#14 VSoon and LSP room on my right and HuiYien and wife on my left. Shu's and the guys rooms are attached which are right opposite ours.
#15 It was SO HOT the day we arrived so we asked for umbrellas from the hotel reception and each of us has one. A bit wtf right go to Krabi beach town for holiday but takut panas.
#16 After lunch, we walked along the Aonang strip to find travel agencies to arrange our itinerary for the next 3 days. Of course this kind of task we hand to HuiYien la coz he's pro in it and he can talk to the girl until she discount everything and probably follow him home too wtf.
#17 I obviously did not help out. I was outside the travel agency taking photos.
#18 They also obviously are not much help because they went away to buy pancakes. Shu wants to bargain with the woman summore wtf. Many said pancakes in Krabi are nice but so so only la very oily summore.
#19 After we booked the trips, we went around looking for decent spa and COULD NOT FIND A DECENT ONE. Really ha. There's spa everywhere in Bali around RM100 per peson but in Krabi we couldnt' find any. The only one we found is like RM300+++ per person. We ended up outside the spa and Step says this hawker noodle is quite nice but I don't think anyone liked it including myself because you know la, Thai noodles are super salty wan.
#20 This is the hotel that offers the RM300++++ spa. It has huts around RM400 per night or so? But I didn't like it at all because the whole place looks quite dodgy and old. I don't mind smaller rooms but it must be NEW and CLEAN.
#21 All of us.
#22 The next morning. Aree Tara offers buffet breakfast and it's quite okay. Choices aren't that much but the food are decent. They changed the options every morning too so you won't get bored. Shu says we look like we're fighting in this photo and she's right we indeed argued that mroning over some dodgy stuff like how many bottles of mineral water bottle we need to buy for the entire trip WTF.
#23 Gathered in lobby after breakfast around 10am for the van to pick us up for Day 1 sightseeing.
#24 Step and I <3
#25 Half way to the elephant trekking place, the tour guide Somja stopped at one of the houses and told us that she can get us nice fruits because they're in season right now. And she came back into the van with handfuls of rambutans and asked us if we've seen the fruit and tried before or not wtf.
#26 Shu, HuiYien & wife in the biggest elephant.
#27 There're really not much things to look at in the jungle and the most interesting thing is to see the elephant shitting lor. Can you see the asshole or not.
#28 Shit coming out liao. There's photo 3 and 4 to follow up but I lazy to post la heh. The elephant has sistem penghadaman yang bagus coz it really shat a lot.
#29 Then they will stop at one of the river banks and the elephant guides will come down and help you take photos. This is the first time I tried elephant trekking. Quite nice at first but I got SO BORED coz it's really no big deal and nothing much to see.
#30 Like raja waving wtf. and Cheong Siak in front also want to tumpang glamour.
#31 LSP very kepoh he kept turning back to check on everyone else.
#32 You can tell I'm quite bored right.
#33 Our elephant kept stopping and eat and eat and eat and did quite a number of stunts by crashing branches with its trunk and tip toeing to grab some random stuff on the tree. So we're quite happy coz if it didn't do all those things, I'll be even bored. Step then tipped the guide but forgot how much liao.
#34 Their elephant so smart! It actually plucked the flower and handed to them!
#35 Group photo.
#36 After the whole trekking session which is like 45 minutes or so, they will sell you bananas to feed the elephants. Really know how to do business lor coz 95% of the people sure will buy the bananas wan. LSP is in the 5% group hohoho he so smart.
#37 Don't know what he doing. Feed until so got pose wan.
#38 Obviously I'm the first to finish feeding and washed my hand to eat the rambutans. Told you it's the season.
#39 After elephant trekking, they drove another 40 minutes or so to the hot spring. It started rainign at that time but we went down also because it's quite nice to dip in the hot spring when it's raining. We didn't know how long to stay inside and we ended up dipping for 40 minutes or so but then we saw the sign board that said best to dip for only 20 minutes or so wtf. Most of us felt dizzy after we got up and had to lie on the hut to rest for a bit. And I ended up puking. Must be because of the extra 20 minutes.
#40 They drove us to Emerald Pool after Hot Spring which is like 40 minutes away. MOST of the time we spent travelling in the van! Quite torturing actually. We had to walk around 25 minutes from the entrance of the emerald pool to the actual pool and it's RAINING.
#41 Almost everytime we go to the beach or pool we played the same pushing game. And you'd think WeePing is nice to bully coz she's petite like that but you're so wrong man. She's more ganas than anyone you know but let me warn you, don't get into pillow fights with her okay you won't come out alive.
#42 Another usual game. Throwing people around.
#43 They say the pool is haunted.
#44 Believe it now? hohoho Ju-On.
#45 Best pose award.
#46 At night, the tour guide Somja brought us to the night market for dinner. There's all these zap fan stalls in the night market and if you don't have any locals bringing you around, you probably will end up eating in the Thai restaurants around the beach. But let me tell you this. THis is probably the BEST meal I had in Krabi, and so cheap you wouldn't believe it. See the pork on the top right corner? That's extremely spicy but it's SO NICE and you wanted to keep having it even though your tongue can't stand liao. Haih think of it now also I hungry ady.
#47 We asked Somja to bring us to the happening pubs and she brought us to this place and there's probably only 2 occupied tables in the whole place. Krabi people sleeps early, that's all I can say.
#48 Our favourite hang out place. 7-11 is EVERYWHERE in Thailand, not just in Krabi but in Bangkok I noticed 7-11 is everyhwere! And the things are quite cheap too so we went to 7-11 every day when we're in Krabi to grab snacks and food. And Cheong Siak looks like he's gonna kill somebody that night.
Wah...48 photos! phew...You'd be thinking wah Krabi so happening so much things to do and whole day activity is packed right.
Wait till you see Day 2 and 3 and 4. You won't believe it.
