U.S.A: Las Vegas Part I

I wanted to skip this entry because I've been to Vegas 3 times and this is the 4th time so actually I've already blogged about it multiple times and whats new about it? Vegas never ever change except addition of a few hotels.

The most recent I went is Jan 2008 here with Kevin.

But then this time is different! It's my first time with my parents but not my sister though coz my first Vegas trip in 2006 is with her and Jin Giap.

So normally what everyone will do is just to walk the whole Las Vegas strip which is from Wynn Las Vegas -> TI -> Venetian -> Mirage -> Harrahs -> Flamingo -> Caesar's Palace -> Bellagio -> Paris -> Monte Carlo -> New York New York -> MGM Grand -> Excalibur -> Luxor -> Mandalay Bay. That 1 strip is more than enough. Other than that, there's only the Vegas downtown which I've also been to and my advise is don't waste time going. It's all 2nd grade casino and there's nothing special to see or eat.

Hotel wise, I've stayed in Flamingo, Excalibur, MGM Grand.

#1 This time we stayed in Paris, Las Vegas. It is surprisingly VERY NICE. Last few trips to Vegas I've never really paid attention to Paris. I didn't go in and take a look but just snap a few photos of the fake Eiffel Tower.

#2 You know you're in Vegas when you see open casino at the lobby.

#3 See? The room is very nice. The bed is ultra fluffy and comfy. But of course it can never be compared to the MGM Grand we stayed last year.

#4 Taken in 2008 in our MGM Grand Marquee Suite which is like 1600 sq ft with a panaromic view of the whole Vegas. It's about US$500 per night!

#5 Digress a bit. I MISS MY LONG HAIR BOOHOO. I can't decide whether I should keep my short hair which is easier to manage and more funky but i miss long hairrrrrrrrrr =( howwww.

#6 Okay back to topic. Dad and mum very happy with the room. All thanks to my sister who surveyed a lot and got really good deal.

#7 Paris! Fake one.

#8 This is the 1st time I'm in Vegas during summer. But much to my relief, it wasn't really THAT BAD. My friends told me it's gonna BURN and you won't feel like going out because summer in desert is no joke. Maybe I'm lucky or what but it's seriously just like Malaysia.

#9 Opposite Paris is Bellagio.

#10 I can't remember but I think this is inside Bellagio hotel. All the hotels have their own deco area in the hotel besides casino.

#11 On the way to Ceaser's Palace.

#12 In Caeser's Palace. I took photo at this same spot in 3 different trips/year. Maybe can compare abit how much I've aged boohoo.

#13 With a naked Ceaser hohohoho.

#14 Asked a stranger to help us with the family photo but senget one.

#15 I've said this a million times. But inside the hotel, they designed the ceiling like a real sky. Quite bored with it already. But they have a schedule where they will perform a thunderstorm show. They will dim the lights and do the lightning and the sounds and stuff.

#16 Err cannot remember where this is. We're on the way to Treasure Island. and my sister say this is still part of Caeser's Palace but she's not sure too huhuhuhu.

#17 Harrahs opposite.

#18 Inside of The Mirage, Las Vegas where they have another Cirque Du Soleil show - Love by the Beatles.

#9 Outside the Cirque theatre.

#10 The Venetian after Mirage.

#11 Mirage to TI and the Wynn in gold all the way at the back.

#12 Inside Venetian where they have this happening club Tao frequently seen with a lot of intl artists.

#13 With the Blue Man Group. We didn't go for the show though since we chose Cirque already and it's quite meaningless to watch so many shows. Candy went for Blue Man show though.

#14 A canal inside the hotel.

#15 We spent almost everyday in Panda Express because my dad likes Chinese Food and you can hardly find Chinese food in Vegas hotels.

#16 I had the same orange chicken plus black pepper chicken with fried rice everytime since 3 years ago wtf. A bit sien already.

#17 Mirage from Venetian.

#18 Back to hotel for evening nap and chinese shows on the TV heh.

#19 Fully rested and came back out around 7pm.

#20 Bellagio fountain show started.

#21 Dinner at Denny's opposite Treasure Island. huhuhu at first I wrote Wendy's but then my sister commented and say it's Denny's not Wendy's so I terpaksa change now wtf.

#22 Went for the 8pm Treasure Island show. Most of the hotels in Vegas strip have their own hotel show at night. For TI, it's the pirate show. For Bellagio, it's the fountain. For Mirage, i think it's volcano. But TI show IS A TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. We practically have to squeeze our way in to see some lousy pirate dancing show.

#23 Don't know which hotel this is already. Sister say Mirage! (but not too sure too). Ya wtf right we kept forgetting where we are but we can't be bothered lah as long as we know they're all in the hotels in Vegas then can already.

#24 Tired and resting by the road side at the Neiman Marcus junction.

#25 TI at night.

#26 Mum and dad in front of Venetian at night.

#27 We then spend an hour or so lepakking at Bellagio and watched like 5 or 6 fountain shows. We had plenty of time in hand so we just hang around and go to the cafe for coffee and stuff.

#28 Paris at night.

Out of the many many Bellagio fountains I've watched the few trips to Vegas, I still love the one I watch on my 1st trip to Vegas - Andrea Bocelli "Time To Say Goodbye". If you haven't been to Vegas, then you can watch this YouTube of the fantastic fountain show.
