Happy Birthday!!!!

I bought myself a pair of flats worth....SGD19.90 wtf cheapskate but I really needed a black color flats so..oh well. Also partly to congratulate self because the company announced base salary increment for all employees woohooooooooo and let's just say it's really not low at all huhuhuhuhuhuh. Lucky me the newbie!

++++++++++++++++++++++++

On another more important note, it's my sister's birthday today so HAPPPPPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

My brother brought the little nephew to Compass Point for The Icing Room, also from BreadTalk family. It's a "design your own cake" shop where they will provide you with a baked cake and you are free to design it or add your own toppings and ribbons and everything is provided!

This, lady and gentleman, is the cake fully designed by the little boy! Very karerful and I believe except the spelling, everything is really drawn by him.

When he got home, he was singing Happy Birthday all by himself and clapped and cut the cake. Can he be any cuter hehe.

Monday Blues.

I am having an extreme case of Monday bluessssssssssss.

Weekend was spent in Langkawi wasting our life and hours away but then, that's the whole purpose anyway. I waited SO LONG for that short getaway since I changed job but why is it over so fast my god I felt like it's all a dream when I lie in bed yesterday like the weekend didn't happen. Fuck.

At this moment I wish I am in Intel because it can let you go to work but slack the whole day and nobody would give a damn. Then I could wake up at 10am and go to work slowly and just surf the whole day away until 4pm then go kayu then go home and sleep. wtf.

Why is it that everytime I go for holiday but come back feeling 1423445345 times more tired than usual? Isn't holiday the time for me to rejuvenate and everything. But how to rejuvenate when I have to check out at 12noon then flight from Langkawi->KL is at 5.30pm and reach KL at 6.30pm then waited until 9.30 for the flight back to Spore then reach Spore at 10.30pm take skybus to Terminal 2 then take MRT from Changi to Paya Lebar than change MRT line to Serangoon then change MRT line to Hougang then waited for bus No 72 then walk home and reach home at 12 FUCKING MIDNIGHT wtf I felt like my legs could no longer walk and my shoulder is numb from lugging my bag around fml.

So yes, Monday sucks.

Random Thoughts.

The other day I was chatting with a friend and he said that my life seems a lot better after I moved here.

It is only somewhat true.

Somedays, after I switched off the light and lie on the bed, it makes me sick to the stomach knowing that Hui Yien is not 7 floors downstairs and ShuShan and Joe is not opposite my block.

At times it really sucks, knowing that I couldn't drive to 5.2 tomorrow to occupy Kevin's cube the whole day and pinch and kick him every 5 minutes, or tell him I think I am pregnant and then have him look at me in horror, or go to Kayu at 4.30pm weekly with Porny and Kevin and LSP and VSoon, or go to work at 9am everyday and had 1 hour breakfast of 10000 bullshits with YYY and Shu, or go to work to find Milo on my cube table from CheongSiak and ChinCheong (it never fail to make my day), or listen to CheongSiak scolding people in Hokkien or slamming the keyboard in the cube next to mine, or being a true bitch in front of Porny and yet constantly remind him that he should be thankful for a friend like me, or go to lunch with everyone in Kim Gary (hoping that I can lunch there everyday even though the food sucks but I just like to hang out there), or say Pey short everytime I see her, or the occasional pot luck in her house, or YYY's 7pm dinner sms, and criticize his aircond-less ferrari, or hang out in LSP house to watch Stephen Chow and play mahjong every Saturday (serious! we have to watch Stephen Chow everytime we play mahjong dont know why), or go karaoke with Shu, YYY, Ya Wen every Friday lunch until we have no other friends, or pass by Joe's cube and caught him looking at photography forums (all the time), or sit in cube and wait for Pei Shan to hand deliver her home made cakes, or the annual clubbing session with Joel and gang and hoping someone get drunk and humiliate himself so I can laugh at him the next day (*cough* YYY *cough*), or peep whether Joe's car or Porny's car is still parked beside and below mine when I go to work in the morning, or go back to Danzity opposite Qbay and dance the night away with Grace and AngieX2 and ChengLin and ChiaHuey because I had the best times there, and some 199737423462437525 other things that I can never finish listing.

Or..simply, just be able to call them and have them drive me out anytime anyday whenever I am feeling bored and just, sit in a cafe whole night and sigh our life away.

Everything that I do there is nothing great, but all that has become a routine, a habit, something that I have and WILL do every day every week, but still enjoy it nonetheless.

I felt horrible at times. Because this is not a matter of just being away on a business trip for 3 months or 1 year and get back to how things were. I would not be able to do any of the above anymore in my life and sometimes when I think of that, I could almost feel the pair of tears escape and I have to tell myself that all this is for the better. I cannot stay in the same situation just for this, because, people move on, they move forward and they improve their life. I can't stay stagnant just for this things that I want to be able to do everyday. One day, everyone would have their own direction and their own family and their own life. No matter what, one day, we won't be able to have breakfast and lunch and dinner and keep each other company every single day. Which reminds me, Porny used to tell me he has nothing to talk to me because our communication quota is up for all the hours that we spent together wtf.

So, yes, life is great here. But it would be a whole lot greater if I have them here with me. (and so I hope everyday that Penang island would sink soon so they will all move here.)

Singapore Public Transportation Guide

I wish you're here holding my hands and making sure I am well fed!

I am eating beef noodle now. Wish you are here too so I can take your beef noodle since you don't eat beef!

-_-"

One thing I learnt from all these years is that when it comes to food, never say no to what the boy wants. He can let me have my way in whatever things but when it comes to food, not even I can persuade him to do otherwise.

In Malaysia, if you want to go around, you need a car and a GPS.
In Singapore, you need an iPhone wtf or a PC.

I will show you the guide to going around Singapore through bus/mrt if you don't have a car.

For newcomers like me, for instance, I need to go to Canon service center, this is what I do, provided I am at home and have internet access.

1. Google for the address.

2. Paste the address in Google Map to check the location and see which MRT station is the nearest. I usually opt for MRT so that I wont get affected by traffic jam and everything. So if the place is accessible via MRT and also MOST of the major buildings/shopping malls, then that is the best scenario. In this case, obviously you can see NE1 HarbourFront MRT station is the nearest. Usually the walk after you get out of MRT is within 5-10 minutes.

3. If your HDB flat is not within walking distance to MRT station, then you have to use SBS transit website to check for what bus to take from the comfort of your own home. All you need to input is the road name or major buildings near to you. Then the website will list out all the bus stop numbers for you to choose. Alternative is to use google map and you can click on the bus stop image and it will show you the bus stop number too.

4. The journey planner will tell you which way is the shortest and the bus number to take from which bus stop.

5. If you're in Singapore, the first application you should install in your iPhone is 'SG Buses'.

6. Once you know the bus to take and what bus stop number, you can use SG Buses application to check what time the bus is arriving so you should run faster or you can take your own sweet time.

7. It will not only show the minutes the bus is arriving, it will also list all the bus stop number that the bus will pass through. So you will know how many bus stops you will pass until you reach the destination then you will not miss it!

Additionally, if you want to estimate your journey time then you can use the Transitlink website to check for the fare and time needed.

8. Input both your MRT station name.

9. It will show you all the information you need.

This is the link to the MRT map.

http://www.transitlink.com.sg/images/eguide/mrt_sys_map.htm

See so easy only!!!!! If you're here on holiday or something then you will find this very useful to go around if your friend in Singapore has no time to layan you or whatever.

And if you take flight, I can also show you how and what bus to take to the city! I'll write step by step next time ok.

IF you don't have the privilege of checking from a home PC, for instance, the other day my brother dropped me at the Comfort DelGro center to register for my driving license theory exam. When I'm done, I just walk out the center to the nearest bus stop(you will ALWAYS have a bus stop near to where you are and I can guarantee that).

At the bus stop, it will list out all the buses that will pass by and the journey path for each of the buses. If none of the bus go straight to your destination and you didn't want to transfer bus, then check which bus will bring you to the nearest MRT station. Normally one of the buses will bring you to the MRT and the name of the MRT station bus stop is very obvious like 'Bishan MRT' wtf.

So there you go! Traveling in Singapore is very convenient. You really don't need a car and bear the expanses of feeding and maintaining a car if you can't afford it. Save a lot!

Mini Hong Kong

This weekend has not ended but I'm already giving it a full thumbs up!

For the trillionth time, I can't be more glad that I'm actually living here instead of Penang else I wouldn't be able to witness and see and feel a totally different life. Penang is great, but 5 years there is a good enough period and its really time to experience a good city life and where can be a better start than Singapore? But now I can see for myself why everyone wants to stay here huhuhuhuh. I sat there on the platform outside Marina Bay Sands feeling the cool breeze, hearing the loud screams from the Youth Oympic Games opening launch nearby and witnessing the fireworks and sky light show, an exact replicate of Hong Kong's symphony of light! I really didn't want to leave!

Will show you more of Vivo and Marina Bay Sands next.

My Sunday.

I didn't have any plans for Sunday. My whole body ached from Saturday but still didn't feel like staying at home for Sunday.

Took bus to AMK Hub and had a quick bite before lunch.

#1 My brother used to tell me about this famous curry puff. I'm never a curry puff person but he said this is so good because the skin is crispy and when you bite into it the curry sauce will drip out so kua zheong. I tried it once and damn...it is really THAT good so I had to bring Step there and try it out.

#2 They had all kinds of puffs. Yam, Chilli Crab etc etc but I ordered the most original curry puff only. If you're ever in AMK Hub, go to the Basement and look for 1A Crispy Puff Kiosk.

Lunch at AMK Hub Foodfare.

#3 I ordered Fried Pork with Onion from the Taiwanese stall. It comes with plain white rice and soup for S$3.90. Step had Japanese curry rice at S$5.50. Expensive and extremely diluted so he had chicken rice again fhl and the chicken rice is so much better and comes with a super big bowl of peanut soup too yum yum.

After lunch, we walked out of AMK Hub towards the Open Plaza coz I wanted to get my Bubble Milk Tea! I am a really big big bubble tea person and there's this famous Koi Cafe in Singapore that serves the best Bubble Milk Tea. It only has 3 branches in Singapore if I'm not mistaken (Toa Payoh, Bishan and AMK) and each of it is ALWAYS packed. No kidding. The longest wait I had is around 45 minutes for just 1 milk tea =(

#4 The said best bubble tea shop in Singapore. This popular chain store originated from Taiwan's 50 岚.

#5 First you queue up to place the order and pay. Then you will be given a queue number. I was there around 1pm. Imagine, by 1 pm of that day, there's already 262 numbers which means 262 people has queued to make order and that DOES not mean that 1 person only get 1 bubble tea. SO DO YOUR MATH AND NOW YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THEY EARN??!!! My number was #301.

#6 This is the queue to make order. After that you move to the front of the store to wait for your queue number.

#7 You choose whether you want flavored tea or bubble tea. Then what flavor of the tea followed by the size of the drink (medium or large) then your sugar level.

#8 My medium sized less sugar bubble pearl milk tea and Step's medium-sized less sugar Ai-Yu Jasmine Green Tea. I loved mine but he thinks the tea's too bitter for him =(

My verdict: worth the wait! Mainly because I am already a big fan of bubble milk tea but judging from the queue, many loved it too. My mum always say i 'jiak liao bo sai pang' (direct translation to eat already no shit) coz too free to go queue up so long for 1 drink FML.

We then took the MRT to HarbourFront and met up with Joe. I'm feeling really hungry so I went to ToastBox to eat again wtf. ShuShan say she forgot how I look like already coz I never post photos but there's really a reason why I never post coz I super damn fucking fat now fml.

#9 The popular bread chain store BreadTalk.

#10 The attached ToastBox that is under the same umbrella with BreadTalk.

#11 The original photo I took was damn fucking blur so to go with it I just blurred and black and white it lah lol. I love hanging out in ToastBox because I love places like this that comes with bread and teh tarik wtf I told Step that if I have all my friends here I would force them to hang out with me everyday in ToastBox just like how I force them to eat KimGary until they puke. F-their-L.

#12 My Kaya Toast Set for S$4.

#13 4th row from the screen! Not too bad because it's a blockbuster so it's in GV Max which is huge anyway.

Salt is...just okay. Storyline is quite disappointing but then I guess people never expected anything out of it except watching Angelina Jolie because she has the plump-est lips and that's about it lah I think.

But I was thinking if I have to be Salt, there's like a whole list of things that I need to learn. Need to learn to put on colored contacts (the thought of my finger touching my eyeballs scares me), learn to dye my hair, learn to put dynamo and dettol together to become a bomb, learn to operate all machines, learn to shoot, learn to read maps, learn to read building structure maps, learn to use fire extinguisher, learn to jump from truck roofs to roofs, learn to walk on thin building railings on the 5000th floor, learn to hook on to building lift wires and slide down, learn to extract poison out of spiders..walao...director, you got a bit kua zheong or not?

#14 After movie........we eat again. SEE WHAT I TOLD U? EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT HOW NOT TO GET FAT FML. Carl's Junior summore!

#15 We ordered 2 sets and 1 sandwich. Theirs are all beef, super huge beef I must say. Each set is around S$12 and comes with free-flow drinks and fries.

#16 My charboiled or chargrilled or whatever BBQ chicken with melting cheese and BBQ sauce oooooozing out. Nom NOM nom Nom. Mine is not a set and is S$8.50. Worth every single cent.

Shopped around for a while after Carl's Jr because I'm feeling like I'm gonna explode from ALL THE FOOD since lunch. Initially the purpose going to Vivocity is to get my Canon camera but because we wasted all the time eating and by the time I finished eating, the Canon shop CLOSED already FML MAX. Why am I like that!

#17 Err...Max Brenner again after that. This one I have planned since days ago because I love Max Brenner like that. Oh yah I go to VivoCity for Max Brenner not so much for Canon *sheepish look wtf. I've had it once in Melbourne and I love it and now I have Max Brenner in Singapore. Bahagianya but the feeling is a bit different la because it's not winter here. I guess hot chocolates are only meant for winter countries lol.

#18 F-Malaysian's-L coz they don't have Max Brenner. Aiya actually this shop is a bit overrated la maybe it's not really that nice but just environment nice only. Suckao is what I had when I was in Melb. It has the fire burning and you put in the chocolate and the milk in yourself and stir until it melts. Fucking contented.

#19 This time I ordered Hug Mug Dark Chocolat. I can't really hug the mug because it's damn warm and it's NOT WINTER so defeated the hug mug purpose already actually. In Melb that time we really hugged the mug and it felt so gooooood!

#20 Nah. My fat face =(

#21 Hi everyone. Say Hi to Average Joe! Nola kidding he is not average at all but then it just sounds nicer that way. Joe is not average because his suggestion for me is to wake up early on Monday morning and take MRT to HarbourFront then take cable car over to Sentosa Island and chase after Peacock coz he say like that is very fun. He is indeed not average at all =D

#22 The boy's Banana Chocolate. Very banana-ish indeed eeks.

#23 We hung out for a bit outside of VivoCity where we can see Resorts World Sentosa right opposite. Very nice place. I would have stayed there longer if not because the last MRT is at 12 midnight =(

Okay phew so that's my Sunday consisting of a lot of FOOD AND FOOD AND FOOD and BUS and MRT.

Today's a public holiday for Spore National Day! Gonna see the much raved about parade and fireworks tonight..through the TV though. I have the tickets to go in the field to participate in building the Singapore flag but aih couldn't make it.

Leap of Faith.

Many a time when people tell me that this movie is superb that movie is nice, I will watch it and usually think it's just okay and overrated. When they told me the movie is funny I will think it's not. When they told me it's very touching I usually didn't find any tug on my heartstrings at all. I'm not a bitch, really, but I just already have that expectation before I watch it so when one already have a certain level of expectations usually you won't find what your friends told you to be true.

Today, after 2 months in the new country, I finally dragged my lazy fat ass to GV Bishan and bought the 3.35pm Inception, Christopher Nolan's mind thriller. FINALLY I decided to check out what all the hoohaa about the movie is about because out of 100 person I know who watched it 102 of them gave it a thumbs up!

#1 Aiya I lazy to rotate it. Sorry I am a lazy blogger like that pfffftttttt as if you don't know that yet wtf. Movie price here on weekdays (Mon->Thurs) is S$6 and on weekends is S$10. But depending on what credit/debit cards you're holding, you get different discount. In my case, I used POSB debit card and it's S$8.50 per ticket, not the cheapest yet, other cards get maybe S$7.50 only.

#2 Lunch in Bishan Junction 8. I really can't understand why my salted fish fried rice got TAUGEH WAN. WHY SINGAPORE FOOD SO WEIRD LIKE THAT GEH!!!

#3 Pepper lunch has the longest queue. 1 black pepper chicken rice is around S$5.50. Consider quite cheap if you don't convert it back to RM.

And about the movie...hmmm...for the first time, it stayed true to people's words and lived up to expectation. It is indeed quite impressive. Erm no. It's actually DAMN FUCKING BLOODY AWESOME. It had my attention for every single minute throughout that 2 mind-fucking hours. Amazing. I'm quite lost for the first 15 minutes though, there's like 123823472634 questions marks all over at first. All the jokes are damn good not like those dumb blonde jokes also and I simply adore Eames. We think he did the most job in the movie from pretending to be the hot chick, Uncle Brown, (I initially wrote Fischer's dying father here but someone told me that the father is Fischer's subconscious thought and Eames has nothing to do with it fml), and then planting bombs, fighting the gunmen (those from Fischer's training against dream extraction), shooting, giving them the 'kick', basically everything right?

Some parts, I still don't quite understand though. Like, the part where Cobb stays in to get Saito out of the limbo. How is it that Cobb can decide for himself that he wants to stay in the limbo to save Saito? I thought with the 'kick' everyone is forcefully brought out from the layer of the dream?

And I really really REALLY want to know whether the totem stop spinning in the end! Did Cobb really go back to his family or is it all a dream? Anyway, I'll go google the whole story. I'm sure it'd be interesting. Dream within a dream. Even the mere mention of it gives me the chill. Nice.

Singapore Flyer

I can't believe I only login FB once in every few days and even that also for less than 5 minutes. Dropped a few comments and logout. I reckon that's a good sign that I am spending more time in real world rather than facing the internet with virtual friends wtf.

I have been a little bit of a touristy in Singapore. I have been to Singapore like 23452435 times but then I have never actually go around aside from Orchard Rd and Bugis. My brother had 5 free Singapore flyer tickets so my parents, Ethan, myself and the boy went to check it out. Well actually only me a bit jakun check it out lah all of them been there already.

Be back after I downloaded the photos from the camera. Weather has been incredibly good over here. I am not kidding about winter wtf we didn't turn on the fan THE WHOLE DAY YESTERDAY AND I STILL FEEL COLD. IS IT END OF THE WORLD ALREADY!!!

Iphone 4 is finally out. It's SGD99 here with the monthly plan of SGD80. Yes very cheap but No I didn't get it. I got the 3GS only because I am stingy like that. My brother bought the Iphone 4 and Ipad the moment they are officially launched. The pre-order internet for the phone was filled after only 2 hours! Crazy right! But I think the sales for Iphone 4 should be moderate only since most of the people already have IPhone 3G/3GS and they can't possibly throw their 3GS away and get the 4G right?

mmm what else. Oh I am now a big fan of Avocado Juice. Let me tell you all about the wonders of fruit juice over here compared to Msia next time because now I have to get back to work. Oh by the way, National Day is next Monday and I finally get to see the much raved about fireworks.
