Photo Diary II

Pardon the photo qualities. That's the best 3GS can offer!

We met up with Xiao Jun and had dinner in Le Bistro Parisien at the colorful & unique Haji Lane. Supposed to be a French restaurant but they had all these Malay posters of which Kevin claimed is the same Malay actress all over the restaurant. Identity crisis much? Food is OK. I had Norwegian Salmon, crispy skin, fresh but a little too pricey for such a small piece of Salmon.

The photo was clear when I view it through the phone and PC but once I uploaded it became blur as hell and even cropped away half of Amy and whole of Asri wtf.

MRT major breakdown on Thursday for the 1st time in 24 years causing havoc. My friend was in a cab and this message popped up on the driver's screen. What a strong cab community hehe.

We walked past this unique shop A Thousand Tales. It's actually a cafe bar cum furniture shop. The whole place is designed like someone's home and every piece of vintage furniture displayed including those we sat on and used are for sale. There's no menu. Cocktails and mocktails are prepared to your liking. The waiter will ask you if you like it sweet/sour/salty/bitter and if you like any kind of fruits. If you're not satisfied with your drink, they'll take it back and "fix" it until you're happy with it. They fixed mine cause I asked for sweet and anything lychee but my drink came nothing close to lychee. They took back and added a lot of lychee liquor which made me passed out in the MRT later that night tsk tsk.

We found this place 4 Fingers Chicken by luck when we were shopping in ION. It's a fast food joint selling Korean fried chicken. And boy, those are really some good crispy spicy fried chicken! We ordered 12 pieces of drummet & wings for $13.95 including fries and root beer. The next day we went back and bought another 12 pieces. Then my brother in law went to ION and bought another 12 the day after. Good chicken!

Once you go brown, you never go black. I colored my hair brown for the 1st time in my life, $139 for hair cut, wash, coloring, treatment. I've always had black hair and I wanted to do something before birthday. Initially wanted to cut it short and stylish but I just had short hair last last year. Thought of perming it but long enough. So the stylist suggested I color it. You can't see it clearly here but it's extremely brown and I'm still not used to it yet. Hopefully all the chemical doesn't ruin my hair and make me loss more hair. I'm almost balding!

Stephen's bus from KL reached the mall at 4pm so I texted him to meet in the mall's Burger King at 5. When I reached Burger King I saw him with his backpack and holding a balloon and bouquet of roses standing there. What a cute sight & a pleasant surprise.

Coffee cake in office for the December babies in office. It's a custom where the bosses will take turn to buy birthday cakes and do a mini celebration in office every month.

Reebonz came to office! Only a week earlier the branded vendors came to set up stalls in our cafeteria selling authentic LV Prada Coach Miu Miu Gucci and definitely made good money. Then this week the whole Reebonz truck came and parked there with glass display of all the branded bags. And you thought Singaporeans can only spend a fortune in Orchard. Now they can even spend all their money in office.

Horrace's farewell lunch in BBQ Chicken also boasting the best Korean Spicy Fried Chicken. I tried the 'Hot Hot Drum' set. It's good but it's not good enough compared to 4 finger licking good wtf.

Sister came back with huge packet of Garrett Popcorn, widely claimed as the best popcorn in the country. Many already told me to try it out. True enough it has the best caramel popcorn but then you can't have too much of this thing. You get sick of it because it's very sweeeeet.

Stephen bought me a MacBookPro for birthday. Breaks my Windows right click habit. I don't know where to start when I power on the Mac and I have to google even the smallest thing "How to rename folder" wtf. Ironically enough, since I started using the Mac, my desktop never acts up. Not a single blue screen the whole week! Feeling threatened huh Windows? *shows fist* wtf.

Photo Diary

Random photo updates.

It's time of the year to get the Christmas tree out of my cupboard and the little nephew set it up all by himself. Ok not really all by himself. My brother setup the tree and the little boy hang all the ornaments up.

I dreamt that Stephen won lottery of 17 MILLION dollars and he gave me 5 MILLION wtf. And then when I found out we're rich, the first thing I wanted to do was take a cab out for supper after midnight WTF! Coz cabs have extra 50% surcharge here so I never go out past midnight. My dream proved I'm not a greedy person at all. Taking a cab past midnight is what I really wanted haha. I digressed. My point is, I dreamt we kena lottery so the next day I went and bought my first ever toto. My colleagues taught me how to buy and how to check the results. Anyway, the conclusion is I didn't win. Duh.

Chocolates are on sale everywhere for Christmas. I passed by this little store with free Toggi chocolate tasting. And it screwed me for life. It's so good I bought a lot and had one everyday.

My dad came over for his birthday so we went for Italian. Wanted to go for the Pepperoni Pizzeria but it's fully booked so we settled for Spizza. It didn't meet expectation and it's not cheap either. No next time!

Sorry if it's gross but hear me out. I went to the dentist alone! For the 1st time in my life! The clinic opens at 6.30PM. I reached at 6.40PM and waited for 2 hours fml. For the whole 2 hours I'm considering chickening out coz I can't stand the dentist drilling sound. Freaks me out! It's my turn and the dentist went 'Hi how's your day? How are you feeling?' all chirpy and stuff then I said "Not so good. I'm kinda scared" haha wtf. "Dont worry you're only doing scaling and cleaning. It doesn't hurt at all". When she's done cleaning, she asked me if I wanted to replace the old filling to the new white ones. My 2 old fillings are grey ~1mm each and it was back when I was 13 years old. She said everyone changed to white nowadays so it'll look invisible and it doesn't hurt (she promise).

Dentists are the biggest liar ever. It hurts like a bitch!! And while she's half way drilling she said "Oh because its white and it's better in quality so it's slightly more pricey". Turns out to be SGD40 for 1mm filling. I changed 2 and plus teeth cleaning is SGD130. Tell me again why my mum never force me to take dentistry last time? Anyway you can see from the photo above it's all white. Used to be 2 small grey ones at the same side.

Went to KL for a weekend and lepak in Midvalley the whole Saturday afternoon. Didn't manage to buy anything as we have all the same brands here with newer goods and bigger collection so I can't find any reason to shop in KL. Christmas deco is not bad though. Ohh actually I DID buy something. I bought 2 pairs of heels from Vincci coz we don't have Vincci here! I miss Vincci and its cheap heels!

Saw a long queue for the Gelato Fruity store in Midvalley. It's a standard size of 100g. I picked my Almond flavor, and queued at the counter to pay. This girl behind me chose the same almond gelato and queued behind me to pay. And when it's my turn, the cashier took one of the almond gelato on the counter for me and she quickly said "THAT'S MINE!!". Both gelato is of the same flavor and weight. Both me and the cashier look at her. Then the cashier shook his head and took the other gelato for me.

He bought a bike despite me saying No for 345987234762358 times. It's like his life long dream to own a big bike. I can foresee him spending a fortune to get a newer better bike very soon. I didn't quite enjoy my 1st ride coz the helmet is too big and it covers my eyes 98% of the time.

Won 2 pax free passes to Zouk Christmas Eve party from some online lucky draw.

My birthday is in a week and Christmas in 2 weeks then it's New Year! Why can't I feel the holiday season yet? Work's a bitch and I've been super robotic for a few weeks trying to get projects done but seems like none is working as planned. Bah!

Outdated Phone.

You know your phone is horribly outdated when nobody is selling its cover anymore.

This was my translucent cover. I like that it's invisible, but hate that it only protects half of the iPhone, leaving the half of the sides bare open. I'm a total klutz and I already dropped the phone on the floor more than 5 times. The screen staying put and not cracked is already a miracle but it won't stay that way for long. So I decided to find a better cover.

The only thing I bought from my recent trip to Hong Kong is THIS cover for HKD20. I walked the whole Temple Street and Ladies Market, but all of the stalls are only selling iPhone4 and iPad covers. Finally found this one and only stall selling a few iPhone3 covers. It protects the phone like a good old condom. Comes with these wings at the side but I can deal with the harmless wings. The more I look at it the more I adore it.

But

I have been using this cover for the past 3 days AND IT ANNOYS THE FUCKING HELL OUT OF ME >( I can hardly hold the phone nicely without these stupid wings poking on my palm and it makes typing damn bloody tough!!

Urgh!!!! I swear one day when I get really irritated I will just cut the wings off.

Cup of Life.

Every time dad goes to China he'll come back with containers of tea leaves. The past long weekend I went back home and took the Chrysanthemum fetus flower back. It doesn't really taste like the normal chrysanthemum but it has its own refreshing floral aroma.

Macarons.

Move over, cupcake. Make way for the macaron.

I bought strawberry, chocolate and hazelnut macarons for the little nephew.
He insisted them to be stacked this way for photo. When I try to rearrange it he will frown and protest "NOT LIKE THISSSSSSS". Then he kept mumbling 'like burger, like burger' when he was eating O_o

And of course, I'd prefer vanilla cupcakes with oreo buttercream anytime over macarons. Other than being pretty pastel colorful & sweet, there's really nothing special about it.

Night Run

It's strange how amazing I felt after a good night run.
All those food I had for the past 2 weeks, is almost like I've starved my whole life. I definitely needed this run.

H&M Picnic In Style

And yet I always thought H&M only sells clothes!

Yummy Italian.

We went to Peperoni Pizzeria today and the food's very good! Yummeh wood-fired pepperoni pizza only at $23 with crispy thin crust! Garlic bread $5 and fried chicken wings $8 are finger licking good nom nom nom. We ordered another mixed seafood risotto $26, nothing to shout about because I'm not a fan of gooey rice or Spanish paella or rice like that. Still would prefer Chinese fried rice haha. I didn't bring my camera along but it's fine because I'm very certain I'll be going back for more Italian dishes! Best of all, there's no service charge and no GST, that's a whopping 17%!

Blood Test.

Not too bad. Only need to watch out that waist line =(

My colleagues could not understand why someone who doesn't consume vegetables her whole life could have better blood results than them. Well, I think they didn't realize a lot of other things are not tested from this minor health screening. But anyway, I'm trying to eat at least 1 small piece of vegetable daily. Hopefully in no time I'll be able to stand that weird taste and texture (though I doubt it'll be in these few years).

Blew My Mind.

Office air-cond is cold enough, but air is too stagnant.

So I bought this USB fan for $10. Not too big wind but good enough for now.

Creme the Hair Spa.

My scalp started to itch so today after I woke up, went straight to Creme the Hair Spa. Why is it called a spa? I didn't know until I arrived that it's really a ....spa. Unlike the normal hair salon that you went in with like 30 chairs and mirrors, this hair spa only has 2 rooms and 1 changing room. Weird right? When I went in and they asked me to change into a robe.

My "room" has an Ogawa massage chair and some hair machines at the back. So basically the whole time I'm lying on the massage chair with it activated and I get to choose whether I want it uppper back or lower back, and they apply hair treatment there and then. Weird huh? And I even have a blanket and they made sure my drinking water is warm and helped me changed it every now and then even before I drink it.

2 hours for the price of...$60.

Verdict? Well...it's really just 2 hours of head, scalp, neck and shoulder essential oil massage. I wish they'd pay more attention to the real issue at hand...MY HAIR. But not so much. I guess hair spa is really just for the experience. I would prefer to go back to a normal hair salon where they force me to sit straight and let me drink cold water but did my hair for a whole hour. Right?

YOU KNOW WHATS THE FUNNIEST THING? After the girl washed my hair and I stood up and she said "dont worry I'll give you a blowjob later"

Zzzzzzzzz. I tried not to laugh, out loud.

Anywayyyyyyyyyy right after that, I went shopping, again but this time ALONE. But before that, LUNCH!

Believe it or not but for the whole 1 year I'm here, I've only been to Kim Gary TWICE! Both times I went not because I miss the food, but I miss the memories I have with the gang in Kim Gary that I treasure so much wtf.

I think I spent almost 10 minutes in the changing room thinking if I should get this. $49 for such a casual cotton piece..is a bit pricey, right? Right? Aiya anyway In the end I didn't get it also.

Err..tomorrow's Monday already?? Sigh.

Saturday in Vivo

We went shopping today and spent half a fortune! Malls here are evil I tell you. Last weekend I was in KL VERY determined to shop all out but I couldn't get anything! Except 1 packet of cotton from Sasa worth RM9.90. The rest of the things I wanted are so expensive! Didn't take me 1 second extra to put the clothes back on the rack. Geez! How to buy a dress in MNG when it's more than RM100. Crazy or what wtf.

I think it's no secret that I'm a big Bubble Milk Tea addict, so is my sister. No actually she liked it but she's not an addict. I remembered when I was in Seattle I was so bubble milk tea deprived that when I found it in Pike's Place, I bought it even though it's USD$6 or something. Mum found out and has been talking about THAT evey time I buy milk tea nowadays.

Here, it's just competition between Koi and Gong Cha. If you're in Singapore, make sure you drop by any of the branch and see for yourselves what a big deal milk tea is here. As you can see, the little shop's packed and it usually takes at least 15 minutes just to place order and another 10 minutes to get your drink. I was thinking I need to bring either Koi or Gong Cha to Malaysia AND YOU KNOW WHAT. Last weekend when I was around the Gardens Midvalley, I SAW GONG CHA SHOP UNDER RENOVATION.

Aih. See. I said I wanted to open Kim Gary in Qbay. Someone did. I wanted to open fitness centre in Qbay. Someone did. I wanted to open Gong Cha. SOMEONE DID. Everyone's getting rich! Except me! HMPH.

Anyway, my favorite now is Milk Green Tea with Pearl for $2.50.

Don't you all miss my shameless camwhore photo!
