Just Us Two

Half a year has gone by and I realized that me and the boy didn't go anywhere or do anything or even take much photos =( It has been a busy half a year for me and I hardly can find time to go on a holiday.

And I haven't mentioned him at all in my blog and people have asked me whether I am still attached wtf. Must everyday talk about him only means attached is it!

But yes lah we're still very in love *shrugs so here I present our only decent photo of the year

Not really that decent also FML no..should be FOL. I look like I haven't slept in ages (which is true) with the eye bags and he looks like he's going to fall to sleep any second there.

He just came for the weekend to spend time with me ♥ but I really wished weekends are 5 days not 2 days *sob and my heart ached so much thinking I don't have a human bolster to hug to sleep tonight =(. Long distance ain't easy, really, no matter how often people tell you that years go by in a breeze, it's definitely not an easy breeze wtf. We've had a lot of arguments but nothing major recently thank god. No matter what, I think every argument pulls us closer because through it, we get to close another gap of differences between us. I refuse to let any argument drag longer than 2 hours MAX. Most of the time we just hug and hold hands and everything is rainbows and butterflies again wtf.

When I moved to Singapore, the common question thrown to me is "Is Step in SG?" "What about Step" "Why to SG not KL?". Well, first, before this I'm in PG and he's in KL, now that I'm in SG he's in KL actually not much difference. It's still a long distance anyway. Secondly, isn't earning SGD better than RM since it's already a long distance anyway? lol. Yah simple logic right. Long distance is torturing but well..BRING IT ON!

Now that I'm busy with new life and new work, it's going to be tougher for us to spend time or go on holidays together (because I no longer have 40 days annual leave fml). Nonetheless I'm going to fork out some annual leaves and plan a quick weekend getaway and replenish all the lost 2010 love =)

Martin + Pauline Wedding I

Ya lol I have to put 'I' in the title coz I already know I wont' have the energy to blog the entire wedding so I divide it first.

Time to blog about my dear sister's wedding! ♥ Both of my sisters are back recently from the US but only for a week though. My sis chose Joe as her KL wedding photographer. She browsed through a few of the wedding sites and when I showed her Joe's, she said yes instantly! I really like his work too! Read on and you'll understand why. I can't praise him and Mark enough.

We all checked in to Royale Bintang Damansara Hotel a week earlier. Martin came back earlier to make sure that everything is ready and so my parents + Candy also stayed over in PJ for weekends. As the wedding is sorta Western-style, there's no those bride snatching session or whatever you call that, which also quite unnecessary plus tiring and serve no purpose, partly because Martin also wouldn't understand the meaning behind lol.

Wedding morning is easy for us. We woke up around 9..and went for buffet breakfast. When the photographers reach the hotel, we are all still in pajamas after buffet can u believe it. Unlike those Chinese weddings where you have to wake up damn early then summore want dong dong chiang here chiang there ask the heng dai to humiliate themselves yah so nothing like that. Everything is quite relaxing for us..and isn't that what wedding is supposed to be? Why are the bride & groom usually always stressed out and tired and rushing here and there and wishing the day end faster?

All of the below photos are credited to Joe =)

#1 Bridal bouquet that I picked! Red & peach rose because her wedding gown is maroon red.

#2 The wedding rings on the Gerberas that I picked as bridemaid's bouquet =D Nice right!

#3 Heels..artistic shot lo. A must shot for all weddings.

#4 Another compulsory wedding shot. The wedding gown with maroon red sash was bought in US. Reasonable price and I really liked it.

#5 It's almost 11am and the groom is shaving hair while his heng dai watching TV =D

#6 Yah the bride side is not any better. Both me and my sister still in pajamas doing absolutely nothing. Then my sister went downstairs (Curve shopping center is attached to the hotel) to shop for Twin Tower souvenirs to bring back to US lol. and my dad? went shopping for suit to wear because he lost his pants. Doesn't sound like a wedding morning eh??

#7 LOL we are so lazy sitting there and the bride has to hold her own veil while doing her hair and makeup HAHA funny la why are we like that! not helpful at all wtf.

#8 My most pampered cute nephew a.k.a the king at home wtf. All dressed up in suit coz he's gonna be the ring bearer in church (is that what you call them? ring bearer? i don't know.) Also very kay poh and kept saying WOW. Must be very amazed of the makeup lol.

#9 The good looking groom all prepared =)

#10 Groom side is all prepared by noon and most of the time spent taking Boyz II Men photos.

#11 This is my most favorite piece of the whole day. Nobody could understand why coz can't even see face. Err...but I like.

#12 Just inserting this one coz got me wtf.

#13 Obviously I am not helping.

#14 Almost done by..1pm. We're late. The church ceremony is starting at 2pm and we all know KL/PJ traffic is HORRIBLE.

#15 The sisters ♥ Brother busy taking video. The bridesmaid's dresses are bought at the same place with the wedding gown. My dress was bought 1 size bigger than Candy's but altered a size too small to my liking, so Candy took it and fits her nicely. And I took hers instead and latered the length only.

AND...we're late to church. We reached almost 30-45 mins late trapped right in front of the hotel. Traffic is crazy because it's Wesak public holiday or something and the whole world decided to go shopping at the Curve wtf.

#16 The ceremony is at Church of St Francis Xavier. The place is HUGEEEE but without air-cond =(

#17 The altar.

Abrupt end wtf. Coz too tired plus I gotta make an important call and go to sleep after that. I am a useless blogger I know fml.

To be continued with the church ceremony + dinner!

Oh Internet I Love U

I am finally back to the internet world wtf.

I've officially moved and didn't have my PC with me and I already returned my company laptop so...aih...

I finally bought a new phone!!! I needed it because that's like my ONLY way to get online and be 'IN' wtf you know last time before I move out of Penang, my friends laughed at me and said that I wouldn't be able to surf FB in my new office so I would only see & comment on msges posted to me after 1 month. So in order to prevent that from happening, I bought a new phone so I can reply to FB msg huhuhuhuhuh.

Anyway my main point is I get to online again with a wireless G USB adapter which I bought for $29 opposite my apt. I am a katak di bawah tempurung because I didn't know so easy just plug in the USB adaptor to my PC then can online already huhuhuh I thought need to buy wireless card and screw inside the PC aih what has Intel do to me wtf.

Will copy all my photos and start blogging this week. hurray!

All You Need To Know About Hair Extensions.

It's really a serious blog drought here. No pictures all words makes JPD a boring blog wtf. I asked Shu Shan to lend me some of her photos to entertain my readers haha if not how!! Plus I really love her photos and I think she takes amazing photos. Serious. It was said that anyone can buy a DSLR but that just makes them a DSLR owner, not a photographer, like me wtf. I can spend fortune to buy a DSLR but I don't think I can ever see the beautiful things that she can see and make (not take) a photograph. It's talent.

Anyway why am I talking so much shit. Aren't I supposed to post photos to entertain you hmm.

Since I haven't really organized photos from recent weeks, let me blog about my hair extension today.

This is my long hair before I chop it off. I had always have short hair, really really short hair like boy cut short until University time. The longest I ever had is at my waist length.

In that 5 years I always wanted to cut it short but never really had the guts too because I don't have the kuaci face and short hair should look quite fugly =( In July 2009, I finally did it.

Taken 1 day after. The photo should show quite clearly the front & side view of my hair albeit mirror a bit dirty plus accidentally focused on the scissors instead of me wtf.

My hair was this length when I did my hair extension.

Hair extensions in Malaysia is too freaking expensive. For every strand, any saloon would charge you RM15. Don't waste time asking around, the good saloons would charge you that price and trust me, you really do not want to go to the dodgy ones even though they're cheaper because you need the good skilled ones.

There are many types of extensions (refer here) but after a hell lot of research, I strongly suggest you to use the normal braiding type. DO NOT, I repeat coz very important, DO NOT go for the glue ones. You can google all about using glue as hair extension and I can guarantee you none of the websites would tell you any pros about it. AND PLEASE ONLY USE REAL HUMAN HAIR not the synthetic ones. They would start braiding from the most bottom of your hairline, line by line, all the way up to the root.

Line as in this is considered 1 line =D. Can't find a better description. This is not me. I googled and this is the best and clearest photo I can get. Hence, if you have lesser/thinner hair, good for you. They probably only need 2 lines or so. But mine need a full head of 4 or 5 lines. The whole process took 3 hours and 2 professionals braiding at the same time. I seriously sweat maximum coz for every line they braid means you need to pay more and more and more. My whole head took 490 strands. Luckily I did it in Singapore which is way cheaper, otherwise I would have bancrupt-ed wtf.

The original hair length is until my butt crack. SERIOUS. IT IS THAT FUCKING LONG OK. I had major headache the first day I did my hair extensions. The braiding itself wasn't really tight. It's probably the extreme hair length that's pulling my hair hence causing the headache. So I vomited. Haha really wan. I puked for 2 days coz I felt so unwell. Then I went for a haircut. They cut a whole lot off.

My hair went from my butt to a bit above my waist line. Still, I feel it's a bit heavy and messy. PLUS half of the hair extensions' hair quality is not fine. It's a bit too frizzy whilst the rest are quite satisfying. I went for a 2nd haircut PLUS a lot of layering.

I look a little bit less like a barbarian with layered and shorter hair. Yah I know you are thinking that I am that crazy bitch who did hair extension and then want to cut it off wtf. I want it to be long but NOT THAT LONG until can act in ghost movie okay!

FINALLY I can haz long hair.

At first it was great fun having long hair again. But let me tell you, maintenance is the real bitch. As you can see, you have braids all over so you can't scratch your head when you wash your hair. You can only scratch it bit by bit, section by section. Then you CAN'T let your hair air-dry because first, it will take forever, 2nd, it can never get VERY DRY at the hair root where you braid because you have like a ball of hair tied there. So no matter how lazy you are, you have to blow dry it and not just simply blow drying. It takes ages because you have to hold up layer by layer of hair to make sure the braiding part is COMPLETELY DRY else within 3 days, you will have dandruff. That's what happened to me. NEVER IN MY LIFE I have dandruff but within 3 days of hair extension I start to have dandruff. No matter how thorough you wash and blow, you will still have dandruff. WORST OF ALL, the hair is lifeless so in order for it to be straight and proper and neat, you need to straighten it, layer by layer.

So there you go, *breathe*, the whole fucking torture you have to go through EVERY SINGLE DAY, that is, if you wash your hair every single day la. Trust me, you will never be able to stand not washing it daily.

To top it all up, if you go to the beach or go camping or a weekend getway or whatever shit like that, you can't wash your hair unless you lug along your hair dryer and hair straightener. Remember my camping trip? I can't go swimming in the sea because I can't wash my hair because there's no electricity anywhere for me to blow dry my hair. And after a whole day of sea wind blowing, I have to go to sleep with fucking salty dirty sweaty hair, and watch the others casually washed and airdry their REAL hair. FML MAX.

Usually hair extension braiding can last for 4 months. Mine was 3 months but I've had enough. That's it. I just HAD to take the hair off. I missed touching my kulit kepala wtf and my whole head is extremely itchyyyyyyyyyyyyy thanks to the dandruff =(

Plus the reason I decided to take it off at 3 months because I've heard and seen people who kept it to 5-6 months and the whole head started to tangle because their real hair is longer and hence the braiding section start to cross each other and tangle maximum. At that time, taking the extensions off would be a real bitch. I've met many people who shared their experiences with me after they knew I did hair extensions and NONE of them told me they would ever do it again.

I have a friend who kept her extensions for 6 months to get her money's worth to realize one day that her REAL hair is dropping out along with the extensions. She went to the saloon to take everything off to realize strands and strands of her real hair keep dropping out and in the end, she had bald patches at a few spots. She was terrified! But now a year has passed and with loads of hair serum and hair growing products, she has hair growing from the bald patches again.

When I took off my extensions, I had also quite a lot of hair dropping out but not as bad as my friend's so I was quite relieved. You can keep the hair and reuse it the next time you do the hair extension again but I don't recommend that because the quality of hair dropped tremendously as it had to go through all the daily hair straightener heat.

A closer look at the dandruff at the hair root. Now you get what I mean?? Even my hair stylist told me that almost no one can survive hair extension without dandruff.

First day after I've taken the extension off. I felt 500 times lighter after all that hair was taken away. But the sad thing is my real hair is only almost at shoulder length which sucks because it's so hard to take care of it. It gets real curly at the end and no matter how long you blow dry it or straighten it, it's not straight =(

If you take off your extensions at the saloon you did it, then they won't charge you for the service. Otherwise, you have to pay maybe less than RM20 to take them off.

Overall, it's a good experience. I had fun with long hair these few months albeit the fucked up maintenance effort. I learnt all about hair extensions, the pros, the cons. To be honest, there's NO PRO besides the fun of having long hair again. I'm being extremely honest here. I don't get paid for advertisements or shit like that so you can trust I am not being bias now. CONS, I've listed it all above.

Many asked me if it's scary to have real human hair on my head. Other people's hair on my head and sleeping on it every night. First night, really, I felt eerie. But then after I washed it, I start to feel like it's my own hair. I don't know whether it's from a dead person or some Indian or anything (I'm not racist. I just think it's from an Indian because only Indians can keep hair THAT long) and I don't really want to know wtf. From what I know, the poor people in 3rd world countries would normally keep their hair very long then cut and sell it off for money so I guess at least I helped some poor little girl out there to buy bread or something wtf.

So there you go, all about my hair extension experience. Would I do it again? A BIG NO. Not unless I have too much money and no where to spend. And most importantly, I missed my short hair and I honestly think I look quite good in short hair mar. NO MEH lol.

Go ahead and ask me anything. I'd be glad to help if you have any questions.

May The Grass Be Greener On The Other Side

Someone asked me what my favorite movie is and the first that came to my mind is 'Pursuit of Happyness'. I still remember I was so touched when I watched it last time and felt SO RELIEVED when he was hired as if I am the one who's penniless and trying to survive.

If you haven't watch it yet I strongly suggest you go see one.

One day in our team's staff meeting, my boss showed us a youTube 'Joe vs the Volcano'.

At the beginning of the show, it was Tom Hanks dragging his feet to work and then it was all dark blue stormy and everything.

The message to us was that we should not be like that. Going to work should not be like that. Every Monday you can see people writing in their facebook 'Monday Blues' 'Shit why does the weekend pass so fast' 'Can i not go to work'. Isn't is so common. That's like Joe in the movie.

I'm exactly like Joe. I lost my motivation I lost my dedication I lost the spirit. When I first joined I really liked my job. I worked hard I worked till 4am in the office, go back showered, and be right back in the office at 7am. I loved working at that time loved everything I'm doing. Doesn't sound like me eh? If you know me now, I'm just that lazy bum who just go to work because I need to be at work and when the clock strikes 5 in the evening I just shut down my laptop and never on it back when I get home. Most days are spent lazing around. Most weekend are spent on the bed watching movie.

I felt so useless so unproductive.

I didn't know the root cause though. Do I not like the environment anymore? Do I not like my job? Do I not like my colleagues? Do I not like my manager? What's the reason behind the sudden slacking?

Whenever we see people quitting and doing good in other companies or other industries or their own business, we just sigh and complained amongst ourselves and how we wish we're them and how sucks it is here now. But after much sighing and jealousy, we get back to our own work. Of course, maybe, we only see the good side of those people. Maybe that's not the whole scenario. Maybe they didn't earn as much as they said they did. But still, isn't the grass always greener on the other side?

So I quit.

I quit for several reasons.

Maybe you will say that the grass is not always greener on the other side, but I'd love to go to the other side and check it out myself. If it's not what I thought it is, it's still an experience and even if I end up falling, I'm sure there's always something to learn. One day, after much falling and tripping, I'm pretty sure I can find my place somewhere.
