Dinosaur?

It's winter in SG now. Seriously. For someone who has to have aircond on all the time, now I don't even turn on the fan at night can you imagine and morning when I wake up usually it's extremely windy and slightly drizzling and I have to wear jacket. But it feels so good! Well not so good on weekdays la I wish I can sleep in.

This morning I woke up with such horrible headache but went to work anyway. Taking bus worsen the headache a little bit and by the time I reach office, I felt like it's end of the world. Nola not that kua zheong but something along that line la. So I went inside the shower room and slept on the bench there WTF for like 1 hour wtf. Supposed to have kickboxing in the office studio during lunch but decided to join the gang and go out to get panadol instead.

Walked in the store and asked the cashier "Got dinosaur or not"

FML

I don't know why I said that but I wanted to say panadol so whatever la the cashier looked at me like I'm crazy or what then I said "I meant panadol"

She passed me the Panadol EXTRA and said "I think you need the EXTRA". fml. But the extra really work. My headache went away after 1 hour or so. Next time you have a headache, get the extras!

Martin + Pauline Wedding III

Okay I lied. My "tomorrow" turns out to be 1 week.

Weekend was great. Went to the Singapore flyer and Resorts World Sentosa Casino. Will blog about that later!

For now, YES continuing with the very last post of the wedding. The wedding dinner!

Wedding dinner is held at the same hotel we stayed in which is Royale Bintang Damansara Hotel. It wasn't in the ballroom though because the plan was to invite close friends and family members to attend and ballroom would be a little too formal. And if the space is too big then the connection between guests and atmosphere wouldn't be as good, which is true, in a way. Big ballrooms are just to show that the couple is rich and able to invite 2 million guests wtf but then all the guests would not be as tight and the feeling would be really different.

The afternoon church session ended around 3+ pm and with all the jam, we reached back hotel around 4+pm and were rushing to check out of the hotel and get changed and then make sure the dinner settings are okay and buy some mcDonald's for the bride hehe.

#1 The dinner tables are placed at the TERRACE. It has 2 sections, one inside the hotel and is air-conditioned while the other section is outdoor and has a cascading waterfall with lush greenery spread along the walls. Both sections are connected with a sliding glass door.

#2 Candy & I are there to make sure they sign the guestbook. We didn't know where to put the book and simply grab a table from the side and put it there. Haha forgot to prepare for this.

#3 Bride & Groom all ready to greet the guests.

#4 Aiya I always unknowingly hunch a bit because she's shorter and I have to match her a bit LOL.

#5 The wedding cake (Cakes by Jo). The bottom is poppy seed and the top is red velvet. LET ME TELL YOU WHAT HAPPEN TO THE CAKE. The woman is supposed to send the wedding cake over around 7pm when the dinner is about to start. When she reached, she told us that the cake is destroyed because they're caught in the jam and her husband SUDDEN BREAK the car and the cake dropped to the front and kind of "cracked". And she's CRYING there saying how sorry she is. Candy said that it's useless to be saying sorry and crying over spilled milk wtf. Most importantly she has to get us a cake because WHAT KIND OF WEDDING DINNER HAS NO WEDDING CAKE!!! She suggested (after 15 mins or so crying) that the hotel offered to use their artificial cake during the cake cutting ceremony and after that, she will serve the guests with the real cake (albeit spoilt but still can be eaten) and well, better than nothing. In the end, she sort of fix the cake and used some flowers to hide the cracks on the cake.

#6 My parents at the host table.

#7 The dinner settings at the TERRACE is actually quite nice.

#8 Dinner was served buffet style. Nothing spectacular but pretty filling. It's a mixture of western and local like satay and stuff.

#9 Guests in KL reception are mostly Martin's friends and families who flew in from US and Nigeria.

#10 He's one of the guest who were really sporting and went out to dance then followed by all of the guests.

#11 The adorable flower girls thinking what to write on the guestbook.

#12 The hotel only took out this sign halfway through the dinner. Must have forgotten.

#13 Ethan found his friends lol and peeping on what they wrote. Ethan wrote the funniest thing on the guestbook..he has a whole page to himself with "Blue Green Red". Yah that's what he wrote because he just learnt 3 words in school.

#14 Oh Hai Love! ♥

#15 Some wedding photographer artistic shot which turned out to be really nice.

#16 Empat beradik ♥. Aih we seldom get to take photos. This is one of the really rare ones.

#17 Speeches & toasts.

#18 Guests listening to the wedding speeches.

#19 Cake cutting ceremony. (is it called cake cutting? I don't even know if there's a proper term for it)

#20 First wedding dance as a married couple. And you wouldn't be able to guess it.

#21 They did the robot dance! -_-" and it's hilarious and entertaining.

#22 Thanking the crowd for the great robot dance cheer lol.

#23 Then came the usual slow dance. Even Ethan participates =D

#24 The other couple was the 1st to join in.

#25 Then everyone else joined in. The hotel actually didn't prepare the space for everyone to join in the dancing..because just how many chinese wedding dinners that can get all the guests to dance?

#26 Ethan enjoyed himself so much! He did the breakdancing and wasn't even shy at all!

#27 Me and Pat kept forcing my dad to dance because we had never seen him dance! But we failed anyway lol. No matter how we pulled and begged, he didn't even budge hehe. My mum's very sporting though, she went out and danced with my sister. Me and Pat...dare not also haha. The last time I did was back in Melbourne during Step's sister's wedding. We really did go out to dance but maybe 10 mins only lah haha better than nothing.

#28 Also one of the rare chances to take proper photos with mum. Seriously my family need to take more photos together.

#30 We invited the boy's parents over too since the dinner is in KL and the boy's house is just nearby at Damansara Utama. But kinda weird to be taking photos together like that lol.

#31 Tiga generation bersama-sama.

#32 Dua generation saja..haha. Do we look alike? When we were younger (when I'm not as tall and about the same height with Candy), people used to say we're twins. But now I think both my elder sisters look more alike than me..They are the "younger" looking face and me...a bit wrinkly liao wtf.

#33 Joe grabbed the couple to take a few shots outside the TERRACE.

#34 And also in the hotel main lobby's staircase.

#35 Me and the boy also have one..tumpang glamor wtf. Nola Joe asked us to stand there to test the lighting before he ask the bride & groom to come. Aih pity us..supporting actors only wtf.

Dinner ended around midnight and we rushed to clean up stuff and take our luggage then drove back to Segamat ON THE SAME NIGHT. Fuh...so tiring okay. Imagine we started around 10 in the morning, then church session in the afternoon, then dinner back at hotel, then drove back Sgt, then tea ceremony with relatives in Sgt the next morning at 10am then wedding lunch in Sgt at 1pm then drove straight to Singapore and flew back to US on the SAME DAY.

Terrible right!

What to do. My family members are scattered around. Some in Penang (actually only me), some in Singapore and some in US and some in Johor. Plus they couldn't take off too long from work so everything has to be done in 1 weekend.

Martin's friend, almost 20 of them, drove with us back to Segamat after dinner because they'll be joining the tea ceremony and lunch the next day too. We booked a whole house for them to overnight in. It's already almost 2-3am when we reach Segamat and I'm so dead tired. I couldn't even drive for an hour and had to ask Candy to drive. I don't know how she could stand not falling asleep though.

But even with all the hectic schedule, I enjoyed it. I enjoyed every single moment with the whole family together. When will the next time be? 2011 Chinese New Year maybe?

Filler Entry

I wanted to blog tonight but decided to give up because the photo upload is soooooooooooo slow.

Be back tomorrow!

Glee!

Am I the last one to catch on the Glee fever!!!

I've heard so much about these series from everyone and magazines and practically everywhere but I couldn't get my uTorrent to work to download it tsk.

But now it's showing here on TV! And I loved it!

Since PPS took away the US series I haven't been watching any. Not even my super favorite Grey's! Now I'm trying to get my uTorrent to work because I miss Grey's boohoo I haven't even finish season 4 can you believe it? I was a hard core fan catching every single episode and replay and replay and replay every night memorizing all the lines and quotes and getting all depressed over it (Don't you think Grey's is very depressing??). Now I'm the last one to finish it?!!?! Geram betul.

Year End Taiwan Itinerary

Err my friend say I come to Singapore already then like disappeared. Well I didn't disappear but I hardly get to go online plus I don't have a SD card reader to transfer the photos from my camera to the PC.

Nothing much changed except I gained a little bit of weight *yawn..what's new tsk.

I haven't been doing much lately. Mostly checking out new things here and memorizing the bus and MRT lines hehe. Oh and most of the time planning some holiday trips. Previously I don't need to actually PLAN my holidays because I can go away anytime I like..almost 3 months holidays last year. But this time it's gonna be different because I have loads to do at work and annual leaves don't come too easily so I make sure that when I do get them, I use them wisely.

These few days I'm trying to draft out my year end Taiwan itinerary. 7 of us will be going for 10 days (or something like that) and tentatively is Taipei->Hua Lian->Qing Jing Nong Chang->Ri Ye Tan->Tai Zhong->Alisan->Gao Siung->Taipei. It's tricky because we're reaching on New Year's Eve and room bookings are not going to be easy and even if we get a room, it's not going to be cheap.

So can you guys who have been to Taiwan please pretty please send me your itinerary??? --> joan.lim@gmail.com. Will really appreciate the help!!

Sotong

It's cool that I get World Cup results update from friends in Facebook so even though I don't really watch it but I still roughly know whats going on. It's funny to see my colleagues asked Tung to buy the football bets for them and later blame him when they lose lol. It's entertaining to see them discussing about football everyday and making sure we eat lunch in malls where they can buy Singapore Pools. Comments on Paul the sotong never fail to crack me up and then all the anger over sotong the stupid but in the end don't know who's the stupid one hehe. Amusing.

What's not cool are girls that don't know shit about football talking about football. That's fine if they take this World Cup chance to get to know about football because hey, football is not just for the boys okay. It's also fine if they are genuinely interested in the games but NOT the girls who are pretending to know and even LIKE football particularly now just to get attention. Parading in your borrowed or your one and only jersey or pretend to be upset about the team that lost OR wrote in the FB/MSN status about praying to God so which team will win even though they don't know shit about the team besides the name of the country is pathetic. It doesn't make you any cooler, it only makes you a dumb shit.

I don't know anything about football and I won't pretend to be all excited and into it just during World Cup. It's great to see people show their passion and discuss about football. But just how interested can you be in football if all you do is login and update your FB status on the 'excitement' or 'disappointment' every half an hr? Tsk.

Martin + Pauline Wedding II

I honestly have been spending less time on the internet. Previously back in Malaysia I spent an average of 14 hours per day in front of my laptop no kidding! Most of the time chatting, surfing, working, facebooking, stalking blogs.

Now I spend more time in the real world. Partly because I'm in a new country..well not actually that new to me but spending holidays here versus actually LIVING here does have a difference. I spend more time getting to know the places here, where to eat, what to eat, where to go, what are the cheaper things to buy and most importantly, the bus routes, the MRT routes, the public transportation cards, kopitiam cards, bank accounts, internet banking, credit cards. There really are a whole lot I need to do to get settled down. So yah. Averagely now I only spend 8 hours in front of the PC and those are used mainly to work. The weird thing is, I really didn't feel left out for not logging in to FB or anything. Good to catch up on friends' updates sometimes but I think its better that I have something to do rather than facebooking any chance I get.

I'll write on my new life here soon but now, let's continue with the wedding shall we?

#1 The church is quite huge. It has almost 30x3 rows of long benches.

#2 The bored flower girls. We were late for almost 45 mins or so. And I heard before we reach they didn't even switch on the fans. Oh did I forget to mention that the church is not air-conditioned.

#3 Groomsmen reached 1 hour earlier and getting rather impatient.

#4 We finally reached and the ceremony started rightaway. Not even 5 minutes for us to prepare and in the midst of the rush, we dropped the rings and Candy had to hurriedly pick it up and tie it back on the ring pillow while telling Ethan not to worry and walk slow, which he did =D

#5 Maid of honor walk with Canon in D playing in the background.

#6 Followed by me and Yvonne.

#7 Then comes the Wedding March and my very smart looking dad escorted the bride in.

#8 Priest speech time.

#9 Everyone get seated and then started singing the praises for God.

#10 Lim's family.... minus my brother and sister in law because they're busy taking photo and video hehe. Ethan really look smart in his suit that day and he's such a good ring bearer too! He was quietly seated, didn't run around or give trouble at all.

#11 Do you take Pauline as your lawful wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better or for worse, for richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish until death do you part?

#12 The priest put the rings into a tray of holy water before they wore it. We were saying that we probably don't need the ring pillow at all because right after Ethan finished his walk in the church, they took the rings and put on another tray (the one that little boy was holding on the right) and gave the ring pillow back. Hehe 2 minutes glamor only for the pillow.

#13 Just for the sake of it.

#14 I wanted to caption it 'Priest giving his blessings' but mistakenly wrote Father but aih..lazy to change.

#15 At last! All done and over with! Well.....for the first part, at least.

#16 One of my favorite photos snapped.

#17 Following that was the photo taking sessions. Starting with families, than the train, groom's friends, bride's friends, etc etc.

#18 Bridesmaids with the married couple.

#19 Ah there you go. The busy photographer and videographer hehe. And of course, the cute ring bearer.

#20 120% of the people would say I'm the elder sister FML. Really I always tried to correct them that shorter doesn't mean younger ok! LOL.

#21 My sister really look radiant and bright that day. Every one of her smiles is captured so beautifully and looking at it I really felt so happy for her.

#22 Bouquet tossing time! Well not every wedding I go to does this. The first time was in Step's sister's wedding and Step's younger sister caught the flower heh.

#23 HONESTLY SERIOUSLY HONESTLY if I reach out my hand I would have caught it coz it's right in front of me and the little girl was standing in front of me. Because I didn't reach out, the flower drop further down and went to her hands =( If nobody wants me in the next 5 years then it's all her fault. lol.

#24 Bride & groom dancing in the room hehe.

The whole church ceremony ended in 1.5 hours or so. We drove back to the hotel and was also caught in the jam. wtf. When we reached back we had to quickly pack all our things and check out of the hotel and dumped the luggages into the car because after the dinner at night, we have to drive straight back to Johor for the ceremony the next morning.

Dinner photos at the hotel up next!
