I was reading my usual blog links and came across people complaining about this curry house suing a blogger I read, SixthSeal.com, about defaming the curry house and also sue Google, for a total of 6mil. And today it's in the news already.

Of course I've read it when he wrote about it back in May 2010 but I can't really remember so I re-read it yesterday, the cached version, and today even the cached version was taken down. So if you're kaypoh enough you can go google sixthseal jothy curry or something like that lo. Apparently, he went to this 'Lonely Planet' recommended curry house and found the food below average and wrote about his personal opinion in his personal blog, but obviously it's not personal enough because he's getting sued now. What the hell? So now people can't even post their own comments on things they tried and eat? Where is the freedom of speech leh? According to the owner, their business has worsen a whole lot after Huai Bin criticized it in his personal space. wa lao. "zan gam bat pa hong lo fo" (cantonese) wtf. If you're really that good then how can a blogger brings your claimed locally and internationally known curry house down? So easy meh! And of course, the twitterers created a #jothyfail hashtag to condemn him lor what else.
Then
who else but the poor poodle. Obviously my facebook has been flooded by the youtube of the man and woman torturing the poodle and forcing it to stand on its hind legs, and if it didn't, the man smacked the dog and it flew across the room for a continuous 15 minutes. I didn't watch the youtube yet though.
Then the sudden internet outrage. People were filing complaints to police, SPCA reacting, thousands of comments, the woman's fb got hacked and all the photos were out in public, more and more fb pages mushroomed for people to threaten and rant and let out their anger. and OF COURSE, it's in the news too.
Wah. I remember when videos of maid abusing little children or news report on little girls raped by father uncle brother were released, the response was never THIS intense. Hmm...
The man and woman has been identified. The man, Allan Tan 'Allan Champ' from Malacca (which he denied here) and the woman who is his ex wife, Doreen Loo. Doreen's FB got hacked and shut down. But many other Facebook pages were created for her with her photo as profile photo for the public to go there and curse and scold and threaten her. As if there's any use. There were also cash rewards offered by an American for whoever that can identify and catch the abuser. There's another FB created dedicated to Sushi (the poodle, obviously) because there're rumors that poor Sushi is dead. Some claimed Sushi is not though, and so there's another group created TO SEARCH FOR SUSHI. Sigh. So many groups which to join??!!?
Those who're more creative suggested he should be locked in a cage with a ferocious dog, and some wanted him to walk and stand with his arms and if he fall down, then smack him wtf.
If he get caught, under Part IV of the Animals Act 1953, he will be fined RM200 or an imprisonment of 6 months or both. ONLY RM200 AFTER ALL THE FUSS?
Well, poor poodle.

I've heard of a blogger who got sued by a cosmetic company after a bad review. Tsk tsk. It's sad to know that there's no longer a freedom of speech.
